Serioiusly, I will say, you have the shirt and the one naira is in the shirt lol!! The puzzle seem incomplete though,

if you gave em 1.5 naira each from the 3 naira, that mean you owe them 48.5 naira each,  48.5+48.5 = 97 plus the 1.5 =1.5 which makes it all 100

and 3-2 = 1 (2 naira given to both parent as 1 N each)

then 49+ 49 = 98

how if u give them 1 N each back you would be owing them 49N each

and by such is 98N and of course you still have 1N so= 99N

so where is the 1N

You are mixing up you accounts(liabilities and assets). It has been a while since I took an accounting course but I will try my best to explain.

The total amount to your loan account(a liability) is 98 naira (98(total credit)=100(credited)-2(debited)).  You do not add 1 naira to the total unless you are going to borrow more money from your parents (1naira credit).

If you are going to use the one naira(in your asset account now) you had left over to pay back your parents, then you will only need to find 97 naira(97(total credit)=98(credit)-1(debited)). Likewise your asset account drops to 97 naira (97(just the shirt) = 98(shirt+1 naira)-1(debit)). Of course that assumes their is no depreciation(decrease in value for the shirt).

As your example has shown, simply adding these two accounts together does not necessarily show the total cost of a transaction. However, the main rule is that Assets minus liabilities should ideally be >0 else you are not making any money.

its VERY SIMPLE: why do you ADD the 1naira that you are left with?! you should SUBSTRACT it.

you got 50 from each of them, you buy the shirt, then get 3 Nairas change. if you give them 1 Naira each then you now owe them 49Nairas each=98. SO FAR SO GOOD, so now the 1Naira you have left is to be SUBSTRACTED to what you owe them 98-1 =97 not ADDED to it. lol

how can you add the 1Naira YOU HAVE, to what you owe them?! you should add it to what you repay them therefore DEDUCT it from the 98nairas.

Let's say you have the money you borrowed and you wish to return it,

I.e 97 naira, Lets divivde it by two

97/2 = 48.5

now 48.5 + 1.5 = 50
or you could put it like this

97/2 = 48.5, remember you've given each of em' 1 naira before
so that accounts to 48.5 + 1 = 49.5
now you have 1 naira with you, divide it by two
Thats 1/2 = 0.5
adding it up to the 49.5 would give us 50 , I.e ( 49.5+ 0.5 = 50 )

If you see now we have our 50 naira back,

The problem lies with the method in which you used to calculate, You loaned money from two different individuals, in tis' case, you added up their money to get one bulky money, when returning, you get the bulky money together and divde, Which you clearly didnt, You didnt divide,

The Bold statement above is wrong and misleading, the shirt you bought at N97 plus the N1 you gave urself adds up to the N98 you owe your parent plus the initial N1 you gave each of them now adds up to N100. So there's no other N1 to be added as that last statement made.

Borrow: N100

Less:
Shirt Bought: N97
Paid Dad: N1
Paid Mum: N1
Owe M&: N1

Total: N100

The missing 1 naira is with the person that bought the shirt,

giving mum and Dad 1naira each means you are spending 99 naira

Okay 49+49= 98
