Recall, the Returning Officer for the election and Vice Chancellor of the University of Lagos, Prof. Oluwatoyin Ogundipe, announced that Adeleke got a total of 403,371 votes, beating the incumbent, Adegboyega Oyetola of the All Progressives Congress, who got 375,027 votes in a keenly contested race.

He said, “I declare Adeleke Ademola Jackson Nurudeen, on behalf of the chairman of INEC, of the PDP, having satisfied the requirement of the law, is hereby declared the winner and he is returned elected.”

According to the total votes recorded by the electoral umpire, the PDP won 17 of the 30 Local Government Areas of the state, while the APC won the remaining 13.

The PDP won in Ede North, Ede South, Ifelodun, Boluwaduro, Egbedore, Odo Otin, Osogbo, Ila, Atakumosa West, Olorunda, Ilesa West, Obokun, Oriade, Orolu, Ife North, Irepodun, and Ejigbo LGAs.

Reacting to the announcement, Ademola in excitement immediately went down on the floor, prostrating to his brother.

This goes to show your lack of knowledge about how we roll in the SW. Majority of Osun people are Muslims and they voted for Adeleke who is a Christian. In fact, the Osun PDP ticket was a Christian-Christian ticket and nobody made an issue out of it. Religion was never a consideration in the election.

We don’t play the dirty and divisive politics of religion in the SW. Go to your SE and be playing your silly religious cards there.

i never agreed that moslems are majority, i just said that, so you will feel Good, ( lets end that)
like Bishop kukah said, you cant force all christians/moslems to vote one party, it APC political strategy and it is constitutional.

to me personally, it against my christian faith, to vote that, voting that will be denying the teaching of jesus against joining to make an advantage oppression of a set of people, the commandments of fairness, tolerance and equity, i really want to make heaven, so i cant., others may, but i cant.

then also you have to note that the 90% of the GO's (General overseers) of major churches in Nigeria are yorubas, thats like the headquarters of church Founders in Nigeria. Tinubu expects 80-90% block votes from them, to join with North (at perfection 60%) to defeat block votes (strictly at least 75% from SS and SE)

can you see how difficult it is now, even though it is possible. thats why they said Muslim Muslim ticket is a difficult option.

and please dont call MKO, because the guy literally was seen (just a little) more friendly to the christians, and there were lower religious killings as compared to now.
