I just bought a tokunbo engine (1MZFE) for my 2001 Toyota Avalon. I later discovered that it was Lexus engine.

Upon research, I discovered that Lexus with that engine are usually with 5 gears whereas my Avalon is 4 gears. I hope this won't be a problem. Although it is working well but I discovered it consumes more fuel than the former engine. What could be the reason for this excessive fuel consumption? Thank you in advance.

Scan the car for codes. Maybe they have tampered with some sensors
