You need to learn the fundamentals of your language first . Then u can learn side by side. Algorithm is nothing but the code you write to achieve a purpose. Ordinary console.log is an algorithm. To get the first item in array which is simply array[0] is an algorithm. So don’t think it’s only those complex algorithms you see in leetcode is algorithms. So learn your fundamentals first, your string methods, your array methods etc because you will need them to write an algorithm
