While I honestly respect everyone's position on the reversed topic. My reasons for absolutely objecting such opinion are many and I will mention just a few. Sadly, if we complain about the ills in the society and interestingly support the very thing, unknown to many is the cause, isn't that doing ourselves a huge disservice and shooting ourselves on the foot?

As one of Nigeria's best and blessed science tutors, I will not be tempted to overlook such write ups despite having my fair share of bad experiences from few lectures in my department in Unilag for about 3years. My reasons are as follows:

(1) If today we have lots of misfits in the political space in Nigeria, ranging from distinguished incompetents, chronic and celebrated criminals to certificate-less sapiens who really never went to the university or were just nuisances in school now earning extremely well by the reason of the vices they engage in, wouldn't it be proper to have professors earn far more than that if not for anything but to encourage the young ones to have an education (formal or informal) for themselves knowing it help the country on the long run.

(2)Many(not all) Nigerian professors are some of the best around the world, because I have been taught by quite a number of them and in all fairness to them despite the nasty and unfavorable environment/conditions/situations they've found themselves I know A BETTER SALARY will help us enjoy a better delivery from, because no matter how good or nice you are as a teacher or lecturer, when you know a system you're with treats you properly, delivering becomes way too easy and also effortlessly upholds contentment.

(3) With the harsh reality of price of commodities and the demands on the home front, I feel it's only a wicked soul that will have a professor earn #200,000 monthly, like seriously?!.Interestingly who gets the brunt? isn't it the very students he/she is meant to lecture?

I have a lot of reasons to give because Lord have mercy, remember we are trying to restore normalcy to this system called Nigeria, and to have that is to have our teachers and lectures well paid.

AN APPEAL TO ALL LECTURERS:
please understand that some of us are really intelligent but having to send ourselves through school has a way of not making us meet the demands expected of us by you guys because today I take that into consideration as I relate with people with people when it has to do with education.
God bless all good teachers and lectures out there, especially mum.

OP please let this get to front page
