It is a global issue , even the euro has fallen against the dollar and this will be the first time in the history of the currency.
Likewise many other countries currencies are at am all time low, even Ghana cedis is now almost 9cedis to 1 dollar,
The global recession ,coupled with the war in Russia and the rising oil prices is impacting heavily on countries that spend heavily on importation .

The truth is that the real price of Dollar to naira is 1USD=2000 to 3000Naira, that the exchange rate is still like this is because CBN is using USD made from crude oil sales to defend naira, if CBN decide to stop defending Naira and allow it to find it's true value you all will see how shitty naira is.

Firstly I sell products on AmaZon US as a side hustle so this bleeped up situations benefits people like me.

Secondly I have just been posted to the UK by my company so, I will be earning in pounds, so once again, I of all people should be happy. Sadly I am not. I am actually furious.

Thirdly, despite the pretentious technical wisdom in your write up, you are committing a logical fallacy (Post hoc ergo propter hoc).

The fallacy is that you attempt to peg the driver for our FX cluelessness on the immediate events around the Ukraine war and surge in the US GDP.

Forgetting to note that our currency under this clueless party called APC had already jumped 250% as at January this year from 180 naira to 415 Naira (CBN rate ooo).

How in Gods name would you expect a different outcome from a government (in which Tinubu is a senior leader) that saw a 250% increase in FX rate in times of peace to give a better outcome in times of conflict?

They say insanity is doing the same thing twice and expecting a different outcome…..then again nobody is normal in this country so…….

How Will dollar be heading to 700 in BDC while CBN rate is heading to 450 Which sane country do we have such disparity. Even at 450 naira is worthless tissue paper. Doing so will make you part of the problem as you will be adding more tension on the already tensed for dollars. Incase you dont know, it is demand that drives the price of dollars.
