Is Peter Obi A Distraction To Tinubu Or Atiku? by JaroMan: 3:22pm On Jul 26, 2022
Mr. Peter Obi is the presidential candidate of L.P. and going by popular slang in the media, he doesn't have structure to win the election.
Labour Party in the last two election was abysmal in their failure. In fact, it was worst in Ekiti because they didn't even record figures for them having lost the structure to APC
Just today, INEC published Ogun State guber candidates and L.P. was omitted, a sign the party is almost nonexistent in the state.
Same stories are everywhere.
But despite these signs of next-to nonexistent, the two big parties APC and PDP tend to see L.P. candidate as a common enemy.
Is Peter Obi a threat to these parties or a distraction?
Now among these two parties, who is he distracting?
I've read PDP folks posit that Peter Obi is a distraction to them.
Rightly, there points is that their power base is eroding them so fast and it will get to a point, he will destroy the three zones PDP always brag with; SE, SS and NC.
I saw L.P. town hall meeting on Sunday in Porthacourt and notable faces were seen given talks.
These are PDP henchmen; someone like Hilda Dokubo and co.
I saw Wike and Amaechi foot soldiers. The meeting was packed.
It was clear from that meeting that South South big men are working with Peter Obi.
It's also instructive to know that Peter Obi has a cordial relationship with ex president GEJ and the later' s SS structure will be given to Peter Obi free of charge if push comes to shove.
If you move to Akwa Ibom and Cross River states, you may think Peter Obi was their former governor. Delta and Edo states are wonders to behold as to how popular the man Peter Obi is in these states. South East is a no go area. So PDP was right to initiate an attack against Peter Obi personality.
In fact, they wasted a lot of time because the underrated him.
Another place he has become a phenomenon is NC.
Abuja, Nasarawa, Benue and Plateau states are turning for the man without structure. These area have reasonable Christian voters and PDP have licked their lips how they will harvest these votes, going by the fallout of Muslim-Muslim ticket of APC. But with Peter Obi, it is looking so unlikely at the moment.
And his unrestricted access to these governors is another thing that worries PDP. The other time he met with Benue, Rivers and Abia govs. It's unsettling to say the least.

One can understand where PDP is coming from; but where is the attack of APC coming from?
Labour Party is nothing in SW. In fact the SW politicians want to strangulate every opposition to APC; and the project cuts across party lines. That's why Ayo Fayose is unconcerned in PDP affairs.
Normally, APC strong base are SW, NW, NE and parts of NC like Kogi, Niger and Kwara states; Peter Obi is weak in these areas.
So why are APC goons after Peter Obi? Are they also seeing him as threat or distraction?
Now; huge Christian community are in SW and many clergymen are becoming vocal against Muslim Muslim ticket. In fact, they are not even looking at Atiku or PDP direction. Peter Obi is whom they're pointing to their members.
Now if religion finally polarize SW, then it is over for APC, because the cosmopolitan nature of the zone will influence even some Muslims into voting Peter Obi, while majority of non Yorubas will also vote him. The reverse shouldn't be rule out; no matter the amount of movement, it's a loss to APC.

So who is Peter Obi distracting? I think he has distracted APC.
The reason is; his supporters are very coordinated and are made of the finest journalists online.
In fact, only one expose on Tinubu by David Hundeyin has destroyed the international profile of Tinubu even when campaign has not started.
Obidients have very potent trolls and they are unrelenting; fighting like jackal and hyenas.
So Tinubu group now see the damage Peter Obi are doing as obstacle to winning, forgetting that Atiku have started consolidating. Did you not see how many northern APC lawmakers that moved to PDP lately?
The Osun election is another sign of distraction. Where Tinubu went and attacked Labour Party. But after election, PDP won while Labour Party got 2k votes.
I see APC getting invested in Labour Party while PDP steals the show.
Because already, APC is handicapped with the same Faith ticket. They should forget Labour Party, fight with PDP and dismantle them with state machinery. They can come back to Labour Party later.
