There seems to be a mindset among both The World and The Church that Chriatians should be poor. Others even go ahead to equate poverty with humility and true relationship with God. However this could not be further from the truth. God creates the world and all its treaures therein for His Children's enjoyment. Life is A great gift from God and not a burden of punishment. The Old Testament is full of wealthy people with whom God was pleased, I suggest we follow suite

God is not against prosperity but material prosperity is not a sign of godliness neither is it a promise from God. Abraham prospered materially because he lived in the Old Testament where the temple was physical and the offerings were physical.

In the New Testament, it is very clear that the Old Testament is an example to us. Now we know that in the New Testament, God doesn't kill fornicators. God doesn't destroy His enemies, God doens't feed us manna from heaven, We don't follow a cloud by day and a fire by night.

However, not everyone understands the Old Testament and interprets it accordingly:

Co 3:14 But their minds were blinded: for until this day remaineth the same vail untaken away in the reading of the old testament; which vail is done away in Christ.
2Co 3:15 But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the vail is upon their heart.
2Co 3:16 Nevertheless when it shall turn to the Lord, the vail shall be taken away.
2Co 3:17 Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.


If God wanted us to prosper materially, he would have said it in several verses but He didn't. If God wanted us to be poor, he would have said it in several verses but He didn't:

1Ti 6:6 But godliness with contentment is great gain.
1Ti 6:7 For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.
1Ti 6:8 And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.

Php 4:19 But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

1Th 4:11 And that ye study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you;
1Th 4:12 That ye may walk honestly toward them that are without, and that ye may have lack of nothing.


Having lack of nothing is neither poverty nor riches, it simply means that having lack of nothing. Whether you live in a shack or a mansion, God wants you to have lack of nothing.

God certainly doesn't want you to take money from the poor under the cover of "tithes". And if you will become rich by teaching tithing, it's only because you are taking from the poor more than what God has commanded you to take:

1Co 9:14 Even so hath the Lord ordained that they which preach the gospel should live of the gospel.


There's a difference between making a living from the gospel and making a killing.

Christians are made to believe 'what God says' depending on the interpretation of their 'Masters' eg Pastors, Reverends, Fathers, etc These masters may say accumulation of wealth is bad, but why do they drive posh cars, live in mansions, dress in designer clothes?

What are the pastors doing with their wealth? The teachings in 1 Timothy chpt 6, also applies to them you know

The lesson in this truth is that a man's life does not consist in the things that he possesses. What you physically have or don't have is not a reliable measure/indicator of God been pleased with you. But we're warned to be more careful if we're rich(everyone's got to be careful btw), excess luggage can cause issues on your flight.

Thats the point we need to correct. christian wealth is not for personal opulent lifestyle, but rather to be a blessing to our world. sponsoring the work of evangelisation. The Gideons are able to make bibles available all over the world because some christians put their money into the work to sponsor millions of bibles. that what our wealth should be for. and not worldly lifestyle or materialism.

1 Corinthians 10:23 .

you better read your bible and ask where the so called friend of God got is wealth from. Abraham pimped his wife sarah to the Pharoah, and the Pharoah gave abraham gold, silver , cattle and wealth while the Pharaoh was bleeping Sarah Abraham was a love-vendor!!!
