We all have that project we started but never finished...


Just for fun mention those projects you started but never finished, and why?

At the beginning of the year, I had this idea of selling themes on Envato. It seemed like a nice way of making some cool passive income.

Paid a designer to design me a theme and I went to building. Building the theme was taking all of the time I had after work but i felt it was for a good course. A friend of mine had spent a year earlier on building a project to sell on Envato and after 3 months of review after he submitted the project got rejected. That got me to thinking damn. Even when I finish, after all the time investment this could get rejected. Aside that, I would need to do some marketing if the theme gets accepted to even make sales.

It felt like running a whole business from scratch and I completely wanted no part of that and scratched that idea and just focused on leetcode. I figured that at the point i was in my career, a year solving leetcode questions everyday would pay me much more than trying to put out digital products on Envato. My theme is unfinished buried somewhere in my hard drive

I picked Buhari and started him as my project in 2015, but now I couldn't finish with him as he now disgusts me.

I signed up on leetcode and hacker rank to learn DSA. Luckily I'm in the NL slack group that could help but haven't been serious or find time to start learning.

That should change from next month.

Good one I was working on a telegram bot that allow me to forward a file(video mostly) to it from other telegram channel or group, the bot then uses mediafire API to upload to the cloud storage for sharing. But I later abandon it cause I found no usefulness in it yet for now.

Evil one I was approached by an internet fraudster to code a bot that gets documents (pdf) from Google search engine and then extracts bank cheques(USA) from them but I later abandoned the project cause I ran out of juice completing it.

Then decided to advance my career rather than wasting time and money on a project which might not survive

I started learning Data science last year, after like 7-8months into learning, I came across a post by Tetanus(I can't spell the name, sorry) saying that msc is the minimum requirement for entry level(me that need a job asap) then I dropped the idea and pick up web dev with extreme focus on Data structure and algorithm.

Just for more visibility and sales
The market will still be there
And every daily activities keep going
The only trouble in starting it is that it will gulp a whole lot of funds and I don't think is unique for it to be able to get funding from Investors
Anyway na just rough projects which I abandoned

Web dev with focus on data structure and algorithm? What is that?
You should have continued with data analysis.

Poster is honest though. Most task we try to tackle from a one man perspective have gone beyond that and the tech world is a global village one. Same theme you try to put out here will be put out by a far more equipped team of experienced guys and that will ultimately undo yours.

Gbam you are working by yourself and indians are working in groups of 10 pumping out AAA themes day and night . I can still do it though in future but as a proper business not a hobby.

But do your research. Search for Data science requirements on google.

So sometime last year I got a new job and slowly I began to push learning After Effects aside to focus on other things.
