The instruction is to pick 1 from each row.

Some people were arguing over the choice of either George Weah or Samuel Eto'o from the first row and another person wrote that "People choose based on the era in which they watched football". He is very correct. To me, George Weah shouldn't be in the first row.

If George Weah is going to be in this picture, then they need to make another row. The first row would have been Roger Milla, George Weah, Abedi Pele and Stephen Keshi. El Hadji Diouf or Frederic Kanute would replace him on what is now the first row.

African Footballer of the Year (France Football) 1989 and 1994, African, European and World Footballer of the Year 1995, highest goal scorer in the UEFA Champions League 1994/95, etc.

George Opong Weah.

George Weah scored what many consider as one of the greatest goals ever, along the way. In a match against Verona, Weah got the ball in the Milan defence area and dribbled past several Verona defenders, running the length of the pitch, to slot the ball in the goal.

African Footballer of the Year 1996 and 1999, BBC African Footballer of the Year 1997 and 1999.

Nwankwo Kanu.

Kanu’s spectacular goal against NAC Breda. He pounced on a loose ball, burst between two defenders, dribbled the goalkeeper and nutmegged the last defender as he slotted the ball into the goal.

Augustine Jay-Jay Okocha.

This was the miracle goal that forced Westerhoff to finally invite him to the national team.

Okocha vs Bayern Munich.

It's quite similar to his goal against Karlsruhe (above). He dribbled the entire Bayern defence, but missed the goal by a hair's breadth. Jean Pierre Papin came over to him and pulled his shirt over his head grin. He seemed to be saying, "How can you dribble past our entire defence and goalkeeper and fail to score"? It was a beautiful miss.

However, I can't find a video of that encounter, so here's another video of Jay Jay scoring against Bayern.

naptu2:
Memories (I'm still searching for a clip of this match).

Bayern Munich played against Eintracht Frankfurt in 1994 or 1995. Jay Jay Okocha dribbled the entire Bayern midfield and defence, beat Oliver Kahn and played a shot at goal. Unfortunately the ball went past the wrong side of the post (just by a few inches).

Jay Jay ended up behind the post and Jean Pierre Papin came to meet him there. Papin pulled Jay Jay's shirt over his head, as if to say, "You should be ashamed of yourself. How can you produce such a brilliant display and fail to score?"

That match was shown on "Football Made In Germany" on the NTA.

That was one of the few occasions that Papin played for Bayern. Papin had been one of the most feared strikers in Europe in the late 1980s and early 1990s. He played for Marseilles when Marseilles was still a big club and played in the 1991 European Cup final with them. He was the highest goal scorer in France for two successive seasons. He joined AC Milan when it was the biggest club in the world and played for them against his former club, Marseilles, in the 1993 European Cup final. He also won the Ballon D'or in 1991.

Unfortunately injuries plagued the tail end of his time with Milan. He was sold to Bayern, but he rarely played for them because he was often injured. He was eventually sold to Bordeux and that's when he went from being one of the most feared strikers in Europe to a has been.

Birthday brace against Charlton.
