An emergency call delivered Tuesday uncovered that the co-pilot who bafflingly disappeared mid-air in North Carolina had “hopped” out of the airplane.
Two Federal Aviation Administration workers could be heard saying that Charley Hew Crooks’ co-pilot detailed that he jumped out of the harmed plane before it made a crisis arrival at Raleigh Durham International Airport on Friday, WRAL revealed.

One report suggested that the copilot was trying to make a soft landing in a nearby lake when he jumped out the window without a parachute while his crippled plane struggled to make a crash landing at the airport.

Instead of landing in the lake like James Bond, the copilot hit the ground and died on impact, while his captain stayed with the stricken aircraft and landed it as best he could, after which he was able to walk away from the crash landing, while his goofy co-pilot lay dead a short distance away because he challenged gravity to a duel and lost.
