Hey,this thread is for those of us who are generator Mechanics.

This is a community of small engine mechanics.
portable generator Mechanics,and the likes. Where we ask questions or offer technical advice to problems one member or multiple members of the community comes up with or is confused about.
I hope we get to know ourselves and find a nice way to offer help to our fellows.

Even if you're not a mechanic,you could come here to seek advice on how to solve or address some typical problems your portable generator is facing or having.
Problems like hard-starting,or maybe needing to change the pull-chord or something.
Something rudimentary that you can solve yourself without having to visit your neighborhood mechanic and save yourself some money.

Introducing myself:
I'm Chinemerem (Nemerem).
A student of the Federal University of Technology,Owerri. Studying mechanical engineering(200lvl) but currently exploring other things due to the current industrial action the Federal University system is facing.
Picked up Portable Gen-repair skills over this strike period and thought we could come up with a Nairaland thread that supports the community of small engine mechanics like myself and also for customers who have a problem with their generator and wanna seek advice on how to go about fixing it(the simple problems that is) or how much it would take for a neighborhood mechanic around their area to fix it to avoid being overcharged or taken advantage of off.

You could also advertise yourself here(only if you're a SEMech).
Tell people your location,state and area so people who happen to be living around that same area would find you and have you fix their engines for them.


If you're a mechanic and facing a problem in your engine that,for some reason you can't fix,you could come over here and seek expert technical advice on how to go about solving it( a miniature version of crowd-sourcing from a specialized group (SEMechs).
