The presidential candidate of APC, Bola Tinubu and the hierarchy of APC confirmed the Governor of Plateau State and Chairman of the Northern Governors’ Forum, Simon Lalong, as the Director General of its Presidential Campaign Council.

As the Director General of Tinubu's campaign council, Lalong is expected to make moves and also take decisions that would promote the candidature of Tinubu. However, a political analyst, Dr. Sam Amadi revealed one statement that was made by Lalong which should be seen as a big mistake.
