Dear Nkechi,

My name is Evelyn, a graduate working with one of the biggest telecom companies in Nigeria. I have been happily married to my lovely husband for twelve years and the marriage is blessed with five beautiful kids.

I used to have what any woman would call a dream and happy home until my 22-year-old niece moved in with us – after she lost both her parents in a ghastly motor accident

Even though I have been getting reports and hearing rumors of my husband’s illicit affair with my niece, I never really took the rumors seriously until one day, when I returned early from work and caught my husband performing sexual act on my niece.

When I showed my anger and disbelief to what I just witnessed my once loving and caring husband threatened to kick me out of the house. He even shocked me further by announcing right in my face that my niece is pregnant for him.

I’m in total shock and don’t know what next to do. I need your urgent help please.

I can remember a similar situation of one family friend. The woman took her relation in, only to come back one day and find the husband and her relation doing hanky panky. The husband proceeded further to send the wife away, and married his wife's relation. It was unheard of. Years later, the man fell ill and became a vegetable. Come and see hard work for this new girl, Everybody believed it was punishment for her sins.

This world is funny, the many stories I have heard and continue to hear. But regardless, that woman should carry the niece somewhere else if she loves her home. There is something wrong if after 12 solid years your husband has the audacity to cheat with a relation. The woman needs to ask herself some questions and then find some answers and resolution with the help of God.
