HOW TO SET SELLING PRICE FOR YOUR BROILERS TO PREVENT MAKING A LOSS

Don't just sell because you saw money in your customer's hand. Don't sell if the negotiation price is below your cost of production.
Don't start selling your birds any how because the money you budgeted for their feed is finished. Always budget their money for feeding even before buying day old chicks and also don't buy more chicks than the budgeted money for feeding can handle or reach, always try to exercise patience in business or you may run at loss.

Ensure you have at least 70% of the feed money and you are sure of the source for the remaining
30% before you book for birds. You don't want to feed ur birds for few weeks, then you start managing feed thereby making the birds to reduce in weight, you may not make enough profit when you start selling off your birds due to reduced weight.

Never ration or reduce poultry feeds for your birds.
The disadvantage of doing such is always bad, Only stock the quantity of birds your capital can currently handle, then you can scale later.

For a worker deserve his pay.
In marketing of broilers, the
formula for sales is:

Total cost of production or the total money it coated you to raise your birds divided by the total number of birds alive at the point of sales.

For example let's say your total cost of production to raise 100birds for 9weeks = #256,000.

Total number of birds alive at the end of production is = 100.

CALCULATE YOUR SELLING PRICE LIKE THIS
For example : : 256,000 / 100 = 2,560.

Cost of production for each bird is N2,560 for 3months

You can add any profit amount you want to it but let's say you are adding 1,000 as your profits per birds.

Which means #3,560 for each bird but Extremely big bird can go for as high as 5,000( extra profit) to cover up for the ones that are stunted.

When you add your cost of cost of production plus your profit your selling price per bird should be atleast #3560

Total profits you should make per bird should be atleast 100birds x #1,000 profits= N100,000.
