Reading the headline again, Lady older than the man in marriage,does it matter?

Many times, a lady and a guy could fall in real love with each other until the guy finds out that the lady in question is older than him and drops his affection towards her.

Only in few cases, one see marriages where the woman is older than the husband in Nigeria and they live very happily without the age factor interference in any way.

well should a lady settle with the guy she is older than even when they are truly in love?

If yes why do you think so? or is this just a Nigeria factor that the husband must be older than the wife?

please share your honest opinion about this subject. It has made some women remained single till now because they felt it must be the other way round.

The age difference here varies so forget if it is 1,2,3, years difference.

@OP I don't know where you got that from,
If i see such a marriage as the on you describe, I might not know the lady is older.
but the few I have identified/been told fit that description, the couples are in old age.

Why are you trying to upset the naturel balance of things in the world?

Age doesn't measure respectfulness, maturity, intelligence, capabilities, values, etc. Until it does, it doesn't matter to me.

i think those that are in it dont even think about age for all i think they care

cos there are more things to talk and talk about other who is the senior in terms

of age even if the man knows he is the head of the home.

I dont think its a law that the man must be older, i only know that the man is the head of the home whether young or old.

it may just be a mindset of some ladies that think how can they call a man they senior their husband and may be answer him sir when he calls.
but they answer their young managers in their offices sir when he calls without any sentiment or bias mind.

imagine that. so its more of a mindset i think.

i don't think it should be a problem.

but in reality, i think the problem is usually from the guys, who attribute any issue that they might ve in d r/ship to d fact that d lady does not respect him, cos she is older.

2ndly, they tend to start seeing d lady as looking older too, since naturally women age faster cos of childbirth.

if d woman insists on a particular decision, d man starts thinking 'she is just seeing me as a kid'!

3rdly, external factors ,

If age doesn't matter to MOST Nigerian men then why are they telling women if they are not married with children by the age of 30 they are useless?

Apparently to most Nigerian men old women aren't attractive and fertile to have their children.

most of these fears are often realized. Trip when during an argument the foolish thing that was wifed opens its mouth to say "am I your mate?"

if a man is too concerned with respect it could be an issue. if someone does not respect you saying "am i your mate?" does not bring it. my wife is older than me and living it simple has made us bond together and one another's friend.
