For many years now, I've noticed a culture that is practiced by quite a number of people and I find it abnormal.
I'll be throwing a question to the house to see if any one has an idea regarding why the culture is being practiced.
1. Having a good bathroom in the house, why do people prefer brushing outside, in the open?
2. Why do some men, forbid sharing buckets and toilet with a woman?

Are these practices traditional? If yes, what do they really mean? And how were they originated?

I've being a Nairaland guest for 5 years and I'm finally a registered member. So, I'd appreciate that this being my first post will produce reasonable comments only.

Thanks.

I finally got an answer.
Recently, we had new tenants and about four of them don't brush inside the house but prefer bushing outside. I just couldn't help but ask one of them, a female about why they are like that. And her reply was this:
"We grew up in the village and in the village, toilets and bathrooms are built far from the house. Sometimes, most people don't build any at all. We would usually bathe in the tiny bathroom and brush outside the compound. It's now a part of us so, you may want to call it 'old-habit'..."
