you name 3 banks which are international. they have the money already. but the local nigeria bank, we are talking about. all of the banks which you people have claim to be in problem. their demand by investor is higher. it tell you. there is something going on. ethnic hate.

if you make claim. let us open the book of all of the affected banks to international auditor from the united nation.

Ans: Because it is a Yoruba bank that's why it is not in trouble. Yoruba people are good bankers
Re: Beaf:why Is Fidelity Bank With The Lowest Bank Branch, not In Problem. by musiwa48: 4:09am On Aug 07, 2011
fidelity bank is an igbo bank.  That why they did not axe it, even while it is performing below expectation.

You see, all the banks they axes are mostly from the West. they are trying to take over the bank , so that they people will control the bank. But remember that nigeria have history. and that history says people who try this before. will end up dead.

Why did Ironsi got killed.? why was Balewa murdered. Why did 1,000,000 people got killed.

Here is it. I am throwing a old challenge to the Nigeria govt to allow united nation Auditor to look into the account of the banks. And including Fidelity bank. And you would see what  I am saying. Ethnic hate is the reason why they are doing this.

Spring bank is Yoruba bank, just like Afribank and PHB.

Majority of the shareholder of spring bank are Yoruba, during the merger , the east content in the bank is less than 16%.  It was former banks own by Oyo state, ondo state, osun state , most yoruba state own banks that former Spring bank.

PHB bank majority shareholders are Yorubas. It was initially own by MKO Abiola and Umaru Yar Adua brother. while platinum bank merge with it.

same thing for afribank.

The issue is, you cant take people business. it does not bring investors into the banking sector. because they will assume, the nigeria govt will take over their asset. Look my friend.  if CBN want to d anything like inject money. they can buy percentage of the bank. but not take over people banks.

You see, we are returning bank to the era ,when nigeria government control banks. and that is the worst period in Nigeria life. Nigeria government does not know how to run business. Look at Ajaokuta company. Nigeria airline , shipping line etc.

What you people are doing is destroying the economy . and making investors lack confident in the nigeria banking sector. CBN can borrow banks money. which is the correct process.  take over is wrong.

Look when mike adenuga started his bank ETB. Mike adenuga used his own personal houses to start branches of the bank. His personal houses now became part of the bank, It is now asset of the bank. Do you take his houses,  many of them use their houses as branch of the bank, which became asset of the bank.

The problem is that Ngozi iweala/Soludo(igbo) so call bank merge is considered by northerners as been unfair. there was no need for that merger.

Spring bank is not Yoruba bank, just like Afribank and PHB. Generally this problem banks are careless with giving loans

musiwa u wan killi me wit lafta, which one b ethnic hate ?? Which one b u.n auditors bizness for naija banking sector.

Bros u too much, bt seriously ur assertions are wild and totally disconnected. The banks in question hav eroded dere capital base so dat is why d problem persists.

Fidelity bank on d contrary is a solid bank if u must knw. They aint too flamboyant or in a hurry to spread bt r conservative n very solid in every parameter,

Un auditors?bt guy hw u tink dat tin join for dis ur arguement??

@OP can i get a link to "website of nigeria banks" have never heard of that.

Plus i dont think that Fidelity bank has less branches than , wema, unity or ETB.
Re: Beaf:why Is Fidelity Bank With The Lowest Bank Branch, not In Problem. by Pukkah: 2:03pm On Aug 07, 2011
The number of branches a bank has is not directly proportional to its financial health.
Re: Beaf:why Is Fidelity Bank With The Lowest Bank Branch, not In Problem. by musiwa48: 3:47am On Aug 08, 2011
you talk of ETB , wema. you are talking of banks which are regional bank. This bank owners known what is going on, and they quickly down grade their banks to regional.  So that they dont get cut up in the fight create by obasanjo govt and northerners in the banking sector.  Obasanjo made the mistake of putting the financial sector into the hand of igbos, excluding other ethnic group. from stock exchange, central bank, finance minister etc. which have created this problem. the north may see it this way, and they blame obasanjo who is Yoruba without knowing Ngozi iweala/soludo  who are Igbo were the one involve.

Look it shows that the motive is ethnic hate. Look. if you go into the history of bank stock in nigeria , even today. all the banks , the  government have been claiming ownership have done very well compare to fidelity bank. Look it is not an issue of argument but an issue  Nigeria should allow international auditor to review the case of all the bank involve, and fidelity bank. and it will clearly show that their is ethnic hate case involve.

Please note if it goes into the international court, all the people involve will be arrested , even if government official , minister or president is involve.

you see , govt can not take over someone bank. Even if a bank fail. Banks are suppose to have insurance policy to cover loss. and the insurance company most pay for damage.  You cant take over people bank under an pretend my friend.  Even if there is corruption involve. the police will finish their work. And the court will make decision before anything can happen to the bank asset. if there is a need for pay back.

But in this case, the books of some of this banks do not show what the federal govt is claiming. It is showing ethnic hate.

Look I have to be honest with you. The federal govt should drop the price of getting a bank license to N1billion.  this way people can own banks. instead of people thinking they  have to steal bank. This is what you are doing. you are stealing banks.

It is not the business of govt to get involve with banks. Govt can own share of the banks. Govt can convert loan to shares, if the a discussion with the bank. but cant take over banks.

there is already a bank cabal in nigeria. the best is to reduce bank license to N1 billion so that northerners can own banks.

Hmmm. I think the topic is apt for Unity Bank. I doubt they even met the re-capitalisation benchmark, yet it has not been touched. Even their former MD(Falaly Bello) has been made the Chairman of one of the Bridge banks. Fresh air ooooo.
Re: Beaf:why Is Fidelity Bank With The Lowest Bank Branch, not In Problem. by musiwa48: 10:43pm On Aug 09, 2011
You see, trade bank and Omega bank which are major shareholder of Spring bank were state own. Ondo and Oyo state have a budget of more than $3  or 4 Billion a years , which is more than the deposit of the largest bank in Nigeria of $2 billion.

Here is where the issue is, when the banks were merge under obasanjo govt a Yoruba man, Obasanjo made a mistake by have the finance minister, central bank governor, stock exchange in the hands of Igbo people. which lead to Northern bank not making it through the merge period. but it is not the fault of yoruba people for that.

The Yoruba banks were smart than the northern bank. While the Yoruba choice to merge together, even in the case of intercontinental bank, it merge with ogun state bank. while oyo/ondo and other form a bank.  The north did not do that. Inland bank and bank of the north could have merge together , they never did. Do you now blame Yoruba people for northern leaders in ability to think ahead. No. In the case of Wema and national bank. Odua group of company merge both bank.  So how can you believe Yoruba people for a northern mistake.

What stop Inland bank and other northern state bank from merging at the time. Greed of former northern governor who refuse to meet and think ahead.

Now. it is a Shame that Azikiwe Jonathan is doing this evil to the Yoruba people. It is so a shame. This is pure wickedness.  You can take people property and claim it is federal govt property. when we all know it is a lie.

there is no deposit that is unsafe. If the federal govt  make sure a claim. let us bring the united nation auditor into all the banks affected.

In a nation if a government shows it is a bias government that government does not deserve to continue to remain in power.

You talk of GTB, why do you think GTB owner ran against Jonathan in the election.

unity bank, the only major northern bank now. have less branches than all of the banks involve. some of this bank have twice the number of branch.   So you can see it is ethnicity.
