So if the wingbacks are not their job well, the blame will be on the centre back because they are the ones infront of the goal.

You are insulting Thiago silver, the dude is a veteran. I have known him right from his days at AC millan and PSG and he has always been consistent. He is in the class of Nesta, Stam, Cafu, Maldini etc. Even though he has passed his prime, he still delivers.
