Shettima!!! The Boko Haram number one sponsor, hyping Lagos like he was the governor of Lagos, let him give us an account of what happened in his state when he was governor for 8years. As for the Hand shaking kleptomania, the Chicago Drug Lord, your defeat shall be well befitting and deserved.

They can't value for the tax they pay in those countries. In Nigeria, politicians use it to pay themselves excessively.

It is hoped that with this clarification, no zombies should ever peddle the lie that Tinubu ran Lagos govt without federal allocation for 8 years because it was allocations for the illegally created LGA/LCDAs that were withheld but even @ that it returned when the SC ruled on the issue.

Correction!!!

Allocations for LGAs in Lagos were withheld by OBJ when he said LGA creation by BAT was illegal. The allocations were released to BRT by Yaradua administration. OBJ didn't honour the Supreme Court judgment back then.

The Cable themselve admitted that Lagos is the fourth largest economy in Africa.

So what is actually the difference between 3rd and 4th? That’s just a slip by 1 position.

So much for fact checking.

Large economy of shithole dwellers with no water and rotten public schools without enough teachers, while most children are in badly monitored private schools because Thiefnuibu has stolen all the money?

Realdeals:
1. The first governor to present a billion Naira state budget in Nigeria.

2. He phased out the shift system in Lagos schools in three months. He built functional classrooms to absorb those who only attend schools for three hours a day.

3. He opened up what is now known as the Lekki Corridor.

4. He built the biggest Housing estate by a state government at Abesan, along with five other estates.

5. He built LASU, LACOED, LASPOTECH and Technical schools to absorb the products of the free education policy.

6 He built General Hospitals and Health centers in all the five divisions of Lagos. He also upgraded General Hospital Ikeja to the Medical arm of LASU.

7. He created the Agric hub at Oko Oba. He also created similar hubs in Ikorodu, Epe and Badagry.

8. His government’s strict adherence to the party manifesto of Free Education, Free Health care, Rural integration and Housing for all, along with other UPN governors, created the largest pool of human resources in Nigeria.

9. He moved the Lagos State Government Secretariat from PWD to Alausa, which he built from scratch. He also lived in his personal house and drove his personal car throughout his tenure.

A 45-year-old resident and father of three, Mr.Fatai Lamide told PUNCH HealthWise that no building in the community has toilet facilities.

The Oyo State-born mechanic said, “We don’t have toilet in this area, including our compound. This canal that you see serves as toilet to all of us living in this area. We defecate inside nylon and throw it inside the canal.

“For people that don’t want to use nylon, they have a special bucket that they use after which they pour it inside the canal too.

The lack of state-owned pipe-borne water in the homes of Lagos residents has continued to be a source of concern, a non-profit group, Corporate Accountability and Public Advocacy Africa (CAPPA) has said.

At a press event to mark this year’s World Water Day, the group said its monitoring team’s visit to state-owned waterworks showed that most of them are not operational.

The group said the waterworks it visited include the ones at Maryland, Mushin, Ikorodu, Obalende, Agbowa, Onikan, Ikoyi, and Amuwo Odofin.

Only the one in Ikoyi is producing water, according to CAPPA.

Even at that Lagos have one of the worst road infrastructures in the country. The IGR they brag about don't have any impact on the residents with stick wielding touts illegally collecting revenues all over Lagos. With the IGR they claim Lagos make, Lagos should be better than this and past govts including BAT should be probed on how they used this big money they made.

This has been analyzed by various international reports. The DFID funded a project on Lagos Board of Internal Revenue early 2007 in which I was on the part of the DFID team. Later, a USAID funded project on Population analyzed this in 2015.

The report submitted here by this guy has been published severally exactly the same article being repeated many times. Those with accurate information that have responded on this same article once or twice will take it as a wastage of time repeating what they have said over the same article many times.

In the report made available to us with statistics during DFID funded project and the one funded by USAID later. Lagos is the 3rd Economy in Africa on all indices. Though, the rating by Cities on different developmental milestones placed Lagos between Third & Fourth, but not purely on economy basis. They picked Jo'burg, Capetown, Cairo & Lagos. Cairo appeared on developmental index of power generation, but market size, immigration & emigration rate Lagos above Cairo which placed Lagos as number three.

The International Development Agencies or Donor Agencies or International Financial Institutions don't base ratings only on IGR records or biased statistics released by government agencies. Over 70% of the Lagos economic power is not captured. The Federalism run in Nigeria put some things in exclusive list. Over 70% VAT in Lagos is not collected as Nigerians avoid or evade Tax. This is applicable to other taxes. VAT goes to FG, NPA, Aviation goes to FG. Lagos has three International Boundaries: Air, Sea and Land Borders , the inbound and outbound traffic and their associated economy is not captured in the report this guy published but is a major part of economic report of International Agency on Development. Lagos Markets, the largest in West Africa serve Ghana, Togo, Benin, Ivory Coast, Burkina Faso, Gambia, Senegal, Chad, Niger etc. If Lagos were to be a country, all these would have been properly regulated. The Telecom (including Broadcast)and Financial transaction in Lagos remains the second in Africa after Jo'burg. These are what they called economy. They are not prorated in any statistics yet released on Lagos but the International Agencies are aware of their worth and impacts.

TheCable works for Tinubu. the only reason for this fact checking is to highlight that Lagos was 4th largest economy from 2012 - 2015. Every other story in the article is just window dressing.

And by the way, Lagos was forth largest economy in Sub-Saharan Africa under Fashola, not anymore.
