2023 ANAMBRA CENTRAL SENATE.

CHIEF OKELEKWE TO SEEK CONSTITUTIONAL ROLE FOR TRADITIONAL RULERS.

Describes Traditional Rulers as symbol of National integration.

The Frontline Senatorial Candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC) for 2023 Anambra Central Senatorial election, Chief Kodilichukwu Okelekwe (UBOM NIBO) has assured traditional Rulers in Anambra Central Senatorial Zone that if elected as the senator representing Anambra Central, He will sponsor a bill seeking for constitutional roles for Traditional Rulers.

Chief Okelekwe revealed that traditional Rulers are veritable sources of national
integration and sustainable development as they influence their subjects towards the realization of nationhood, They also play advisory roles in peace and conflict management for both federal, states and local government.

He further emphasised that traditional Rulers play active role in mobilisation of their subject towards community participation in all aspects of development while maintaining and advocating for peaceful coexistence among their subjects.

He further opined that Traditional rulers are the recognized symbol of traditional authority, tradition, customs, culture, and are pivotal in ensuring the preservation of peace and development in their communities.

He maintained that traditional rulers hold the key to the success or failure in any political administration in Nigeria because they operate at the grassroot of the society and interact closely with people in their daily activities.

He further restated his commitment, stating that the bill which he intends to sponsor will empower the Traditional institution to play more defined roles because they are the closest to the people, and the custodians of the tradition of the people.
