A good number of Americans have sure have British ancestry, mostly from the Pilgrims who arrived in the 1600s. There is a sizable Irish, German and Spanish ancestry. However, the population that arrived from England do so due to the fall out of favor with the British crown and later in the 1780s, the War of Independence was fought to remove British colonialists from much of the East Coast.

Now I wasn't even talking about giving a shit about the Crown in the first place. I don't know where you read that from my post.
