The former senator, Shehu Sani has taken to his verified Twitter page to react as Nigerian-born professor, Uju Anya wishes Queen Elizabeth II an 'excruciating' death. Recall that before the death of Queen Elizabeth II, Britain's longest reigning monarch who died on Thursday after 70 years on the throne, an associate Professor of Applied Linguistics, critical sociolinguistics, and critical discourse at Carnegie Mellon University, Dr. Uju Anya tweeted on social media to wish Queen Elizabeth II an ‘excruciating’ death. Before the tweet was deleted, she speaks out against the colonial legacy of the British Empire under the late Queen. She accused Queen Elizabeth II of sponsoring the “genocide” that led to her family being displaced. She also accused the late Queen and Britain of unfairly supporting General Yakubu Gowon’s federal side against Colonel Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu-led secessionist Biafra, the then Eastern Nigeria. While reacting to this, the outspoken activist, Shehu Sani advised the professor to direct her anger toward her leaders instead of the late Queen. Shehu said the late queen should be left with her creator. In concluding his statement, Shehu Sani said 62 years of Independence was enough time for her to grow. In his tweet, Shehu Sani wrote below: "Direct your anger to your leaders. Leave the Queen with her creator. Sixty-two years of Independence is enough time for you to grow."

Uju Anya diatribe is inexcusable & indefensible. Her bitterness wasn't even motivated by the backlash of failed successive leadership in the country, but rather the unforgiving soul of a typical embittered loser. |
