The only Igbo presidential candidate since 1960 that had the national spread was Nnamdi Azikiwe. Prior to 1960 his party was voted for and won outside his tribe.

I don't know how tribalism stops a politician that has mass appeal not to be voted as President by other tribes. Is it tribalism that stopped ojukwu from winning the entire states in igboland?
