lithium batteries overcharge and could cause fire . When it over charges , it doesn’t last or even retain charge at all anymore . Try to verify your comment sir

It's still does not explain why there is blood everywhere. How can you explain the quantity of blood on the chair and on the floor under the chair. The phone itself was not that damaged as it did not show signs of explosion, it shows a burn out. The battery itself which should be the cause of the explosion was still intact. The phone was still intact. If the explosion was powerful enough to shatter a hunan skull, the phone itself would me in pieces.

Once again the phone did not technically explode. It burst into flames. If the phone actually exploded in his pocket he would not have had time to quickly remove it from his pocket. His hip and groin area including his long john would have been damaged before he could act.

I'm found of sleeping with my phone on my chest... one day I woke up the phone was inside my front pocket overheating because I lay on top of it.... nah God dey protect us for this life

A battery will only explode and catch fire if it is subjected to current/voltage not rated for its optimum charging. Ie use only its recommended charger and not an after market one. People dont learn

If a battery is rated to be charged at 1amp max and you use a 2.5amp charger of another phone........ That action will definitely damage the battery also leading to possible injuries.

In marketing .....the real market leaders are prepared for all sorts from their competitors..

I am not saying the story is false....but, trust me, it's a stunt a competing brand or a new market entrant can pull on a leading brand to either slow their pace or wipe them off the market completely.
