Its not lucrative, go and become a petroleum engineer so you'll work in Shell.

Guy if you want to go into programming because of the money, You are making the greatest mistake of your life. Most programmers got into programming because of the passion they have for the profession not because of the money, the money is just a compensation for their talent. Just Imagine working on a project that you are being paid for and you wish to back off because of the wahala of programming omo I will never advise my enemy to embark on the journey of programming because of the money they make in programming. To be candid with you programmers make a lot of money, just find where you feel comfortable and settle down.

Programing is the most lucrative profession in the world, cos u control every thing that works its your game and its big big business, if u know it very well. you could become a developer, an architect, a consultant, a designer, a teacher and so on .It goes on and on and on. The youngest richest guy in the world is the owner of Facebook, he is a programmer , talk about bill gates, the google brothers, yahoo guys and so on. The profession is really worth trying give it a shot all u need is God and Determination,

Who ever says programmers are poor is the most st**upid person on earth. Go and see countries like Australia, UK, Germany, US where they pay thousands of dollars to people like you and me for just knowing how to program in C.

My sincere advise to you, have a little idea of programming then (if you can) back it up with security(CCIE Security), relocate to a nation like America or Australia, you gonna thank me for the rest of your days on earth here.
