Job Title: Financial Controller

Position Summary

• This position is for an experienced Financial Controller to work in a growing oil & gas (downstream) company under the guidance of the Chief Finance Officer to undertake all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget, and forecast preparation, as well as the development of internal control policies and procedures. Finance Controller responsibilities will also include financial risk management.

Responsibilities
• Creation of internal audit, manage all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, and Revenue Recognition.
• Creation of analytical accounting.
• Analysis and follow-up of costs.
• Creation, and follow-up of group reporting.
• Reporting to shareholders (monthly, quarterly, and annually).
• Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances.
• Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements.
• Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting.
• Research technical accounting issues for compliance.
• Support month-end and year-end close process.
• Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
• Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
• Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
• Super-user on Billing Module, ERP, and reporting module.
• Must provide all the relevant information and statistics KPI`s to the management team when needed.
• Must maintain high stakeholder’s level satisfaction by being proactive in the resolution of the issues.
• Additional controller duties as necessary.

Educational Qualification
• Bachelor’s Degree / Higher National Diploma / Professional Degree in Finance, Accounting, or any related course.
• Professional Certification – ICAN, ACCA ,or similar Experience
• 10 to 15 years of cognate experience in banking, Oil & Gas, or FMCG industry.
• Analysis and control of GL accounts
• Creation of analytical accounting
• Analysis and follow-up of costs
• Creation, and follow-up on group reporting
• Reporting to shareholders (monthly, quarterly, annually)
• Budgeting
• Super-user on Billing Module, ERP, and reporting module
• Risk Management
• Audit experience will be an added advantage

• Experience in creating financial statements.

• Requires intermediate to advanced verbal and written communication skills in English, in addition to effective interpersonal skills.
