The leadership of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), on Wednesday, September 14, 2022, met with the Committee of Vice-Chancellors and Pro-Chancellors of Universities, over the union’s prolonged strike.

The union, on February 14, embarked on a strike following what it described as the failure of the government to meet some of its demands.

Amongst other things, ASUU is seeking improvement in the condition of service of university lecturers, release earned allowances for lecturers, and release revitalisation funds for universities.
