The marriage should be maintained ONLY if she's s virgin.
I mean, haba! It's worth celebrating her for keeping herself for that long. It's not easy.
She stood firm where many fell on the floor and open their legs.

Virgins should truly be celebrated.
But as for those who have received did!ck because of Two eggs and indomie, their glory is already gone so why waste your hard earned money on a pvssy which someone else fvcked with just eggs and indomie?

Why pay Bride price and sponsor wedding ceremony on a pvssy which somebody fvcked with just #200 suya? Are you not stupid?
Someone fvcked it when it was intact with just airtime of #1000 and you want to pay Bride price, sponsor wedding ceremony and take care of her and her siblings just to fvck her?

NO BE FOOLISHNESS BE THAT?

But that number 1 we nor dey guilty of that one at all

Infact we fit accept about 26 naira for bride price
But so far make you nor do our daughter anyhow for marriage

Igbos are guilty of number 1

you are wrong, it is because you stay in Benin, the only group that don't spend much on burials are just the Muslims, other non-muslims in every part of Nigeria spend much on burial. I spent some time in Southwest and I know what I'm saying.

I have notice that some of the things we do in this country in the name of culture and tradition is Causing poor Nigerians more trouble and we need to change.

1. High Cultural cost of marriage.

2. High Cultural cost of burial. A man in my church have not being able to perform the burial rites for his mother because he will at least one million to do it. He is the only child.

3. Transporting dead bodies from the place they died to the village.

I told my brothers and wife, that the day I die, nobody should carry me to any village, they should Bury me in the town that I live. Shikena........

Number 1 is as you want,if you want a big traditional wedding no problem,if you want to just pay the dowry indoor no problem.
Number 2 is how you still want it, you can do burial ceremony without cooking food and buying of drinks, though it is always not possible.
Number 3 is necessary, because ambulance cost alot, and it still depends on the distance.

I agree the first two should be scrapped. But the last one should be choice. Whoever chooses to be buried outside is home should have his/her way.

As for me, I wish to rest at home. Even if i die inside mars or venus, take me back to where i belong.

1: traditional marriage is not expensive. It is how u choose to do it. I didn't spend up to 70k in my own. Sow ur coat according to your size.
2. Same as buried. Do the little u can. My mum is late, and the burial is coming up in November. Though we are many"7childred" and the others are proposing about 1.5m for the burial, I told them I can't contribute more than 50k. I can't come and kill myself.
3. Transporting of dead body's is the one they need to change. Burie anywhere.

1. High Cultural cost of marriage.

People are looking for money and welfare.
In Lagos, Aberos, touts, area boys, NURTW are all demanding money from people on the road.
You may be in your state, laughing at lagos that you don't have agbero and touts in your state.
What you have instead is village elders and inlaws demanding money for marriage.
So, it is still thesame thing.
People are looking for money and welfare.

Western countries have government welfare systems. So old and jobless people don't demand money from others like we do here.

1 traditional wedding is the cheapest in Nigeria am not talking about south east

2) as a Muslim you don’t need money for burial ,even people around will contribute to bury the dead that same day

3) I can’t judge this , some people don’t want to be buried in a strange land
Meself if I die naa Ibadan they go bury me grin No to strange land

What if them no bury you for ibadan? What if them no bury you at all? Wetin you go do boss
Re: 3 Cultural Activities That Need To Be Changed In Nigeria by gulfer: 10:35am On Sep 15, 2022
First two points are absolutely spot-on but I disagree with the third point.
You can repatriate a corpse to the preferred village/place by the deceased or his/her kin so as to have a befitting memorial and tombstone in memory of the departed. cool cool cool

All these are not our problems in the SW, we've evolved beyond that.
You spend on burial or wedding according to your pocket, nobody enforces anything on you.

You should have titled it list of cultural practices that should be abolished in the the SE and SS of Nigeria, not the whole of country.

That's another reminder that we have no business being together in one country.
You guys need more decades to catch up to us.

No need to yab me, deep down you all know this, that's why you come down to SW daily to learn how humans should live.
Stop pretending.

What you fell to realize is that it's common in every part of the world. I bet you a funeral costs more in the US than Nigeria.

I think there's something wrong with us, maybe the hardship
They way elders in the village make demands for burial, i don't that happens in US

they only want to prevent future claim to that land by the family of the deceased stranger, no land actually forbids burial of anybody whether strangers or indigenes as long as the grave was deep enough cheesy cheesy angry

Free your mind from the shackles left by the white man, abeg embarassed
you might be right, but should people be put under pressure to do this things if they can't afford it. This man i talked about his mother's people billed him over a million for his mother's burial. He is a police man with 4 kids, how the hell will get that money.
