[/quote]Chukwudumeme Onwuamadike, better known as Evans, a wealthy kidnapper, and his co-defendant Victor Aduba were both given a 78-year prison sentence by an Ikeja Special Offenses Court.


The two prisoners were charged with plotting to kidnap Sylvanus Ahanonu Hafia on June 23, 2014, in Lagos' Amuwo Odofin neighbourhood.

They were said to have kidnapped Hafia, held her captive, and demanded a $2 million ransom.

Remember that in February 2022, Evans and two other defendants, Uchenna Amadi and Okuchuwkwu Nwachukwu, were all similarly condemned to life in prison by the court presided over by Justice Hakeem Oshodi.

On two charges of conspiracy and kidnapping Donatus Duru, a businessman, they were found guilty.

The judge stated that in some of the confessional videos played in court, Evans had mentioned some of the other defendants and the roles they played in the crime. In reaching his decision regarding Evans, the judge claimed that he had observed the witness's demeanour.[quote]
