As the parties are preparing to kick off campaigns in a few days, Enugu Youth Organization urges political parties to engage in issue-based campaigns and avoid politics of bitterness and hate speeches.

We are calling on youths to always shun political thuggery as we are leaders of tomorrow, “as youths,” let us defend our community positively instead of being used as tools for violence. We wish to remind the youths that politicians who engage other people’s children in violence often keep their children away in “safe havens.”

Enugu Youths express concern that the government may abandon governance for politics, we plead to His Excellency, Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi to continue to remain focused, entrench peace and justice for all as well as engendering development in the state.

Finally, we courage the citizens and residents of the Enugu state to preach peace, and political tolerance and ensure that they pick up the voters card.

A good one. I hope the thuggery part can be heeded by fellow youths.
