*PDP Gubernatorial Candidate, Siminialayi Fubara again shun Rivers Peace meeting as EFCC continues to ambuse him*

Rivers State Peace and Security summits for Governorship Candidates by concerns Rivers people to reconcile warring Governorship candidates and creates peacefully Rivers State ahead of march 2023 governorship election in the state met a brick wall on the PDP Gubernatorial Candidate on Friday 23/9/2022, as Siminialayi Fubara stayed away from the peace parley called by the Stakeholders.

In the past, such occasion used to feature who is who in the state, especially by the ruling party ,in Rivers State, the PDP but this time around, things have turned upside down as the party was already polarised into the Farah and Wike camps.

The case of EFCC vs siminialayi Fubara, is another factor. The case of PDP Gubernatorial Candidate in the 2023 Elections is presently like a pregnant woman that doesn’t know the actual day the baby in her womb would come forth.
Like before, Others prominent members of the ruling party (PDP) in the state were conspicuously missing as her crises deepened both at the state chapters and central as some factions held parallel Leadership meeting while others boycotted the said meeting entirely few days ago.

The continued searched for siminialayi Fubara by the EFCC is no more News and strange to Rivers people of which he intend to lead. You can Vividly recalled that on the Sunday 18/9/2022, Sim Fubara also shun the Ikwere PDP Elders and Chiefs meetings initiated by him upon hearing of his ambushed by EFCC, absent himself for the feared of arrest. A situation which also angered the Elders and Chiefs especially when they saw the Deputy Governorship Candidate, Prof. Ngozi Odu arriving from her Car alone. Siminialayi Fubara, Rivers PDP Governorship Candidate, is facing N117Billion fraud charged and he is wanted by the EFCC. He has escaped attempted arrest by the operatives of anti-graft agency , twice.

On Friday September 23, 2022, ahead of 2023 Governorship election in the state, the Rivers Peace Initiative summits was Organised to appeal and seek dialogue among the contestants to ensure a peaceful 2023. This events took place at onyx Hall, Atrium Events Center , stadium Road PortHarcourt, Rivers State. On this notable and historic event, again , the PDP Gubernatorial Candidate, siminialayi Fubara was missing due to the continues ambushed and fear of EFCC arrest. This situations is worrisome and have continue to generates negative reactions from well meaning Rivers.

Speaking to media crew at the event, one of the organizers noted that the Rivers Peace Initiative was not put up to witch-hunt anybody, adding: “ the key mandate is to bring everybody along. “If today the people of Rivers State and electorates has ask us to give way to peace, we will give way. We will not waste one moment to say let there be peace because it's about the people". He said .

Appealing to PDP to seek dialogue, he stressed that while the events, which will swing in any direction, legitimacy of any leadership truly lies with the people. Congratulating all the participants including the APC Gubernatorial Candidate, H.E Pst. Arc. Tonye Cole Patrick Mni and the AAC Candidate Hon. Dawari George on their successful participation and high manner maintained during the summit.

Today, however both the major political parties are in crisis with the PDP umbrella seen to be in tatters courtesy of the internal wrangling and bickering occasioned by the primary election held. The fight between Wike and Atiku, Wike vs Ayu, Wike vs Farah, Fubara vs EFCC etc. So there's a need for peace parley and it's unfortunate the PDP candidate didn't show up.

One wonders if Fubara, PDP and Governor Wike can't commit to peace how can they preach it to govern a complex state like Rivers State.
