The best way to cook egusi is to fry it with oil on low heat for like 2 minutes. That was how I ate one egusi soup while perceiving the raw odour.

Sorry to say, but there is no best way. It depends on the individual. You are supposed to allow the Egusi cook for at least 15- 20 minutes to avoid having bloated stomach or issues like this.
