As the Israelites journeyed in the wilderness, they unknownly encountered a powerful wizard called Balaam.

Balaam was employed by king Balack of Moab to curse the Israelites, so that they could be easily defeated with or without warfare.

Unfortunately for king Balack and fortunately for the Israelites, God didn't allow Balaam to curse them. God shielded His people from the fatal curses of the wizard. As Balaam opened his mouth to curse, blessings came out.

King Balack was very angry with Balaam as all the animal sacrifices and evil altars he raised to curse the Israelites were wasted.

Balaam pacified the anger of the king by telling him the reasons why he couldn't curse the Israelites. Balaam also advised the king what to do if he wanted to easily defeat the Israelites_

"lure them into sexual immortality with your women! By so doing, God will be angry with them and they will be defenseless"

King Balack heeded the willy wizard and dispatched beautiful and seductive Moabite women into the camp of the Israelites.

You know what happened_many of the Israelites not only fornicated with these hot women but also worshipped their idols!

God was extremely angry with His people. A very deadly plague broke out among them and would have wiped out almost all of them if not for the quick thinking and acting of Phineas. However, between 23 and 24,000 Israelites died prematurely that day.

What are the lessons to learn from this Bible story in our contemporary day?


1. Sexual sin or immorality is a very powerful doorway to satanic attacks and curses to succeed against us. Sexual sins allow the devil to defeat us fully through his human agents: native doctors, witchcraft agents, household enemies, etc.

2. Sexual sin is very deadly and tragic. It will destroy your blessings, your destiny and ultimately your life if given full chance.

Unfortunately, so many Christians are living continuously in sexual sins out of ignorance.(masturbation, fornication and adultery) Reason because they don't know the depths of satan_(Revelation 2:24) the devil is wickedly wicked!

The reason why sexual purity is becoming more and more difficult these days is because the devil knows God created us with sexual desires (for marriage) and he is seriously trying to exploit it for our destruction with him in the lake of fire.

This is why pornography is so accessible online within seconds. This is why more and more women aren't ashamed of their unclothedness in public. This is why more and more youths confuse sex for love in dating relationships.

No doubt, sexual immorality is a stronghold of the devil these final days, but Jesus has already washed us from it by His blood_why continue in it?
