Is it advisable to own a personal living house before travelling out of the country?

I have seen numerous people selling off their properties for the purpose of leaving Nigeria.

Now is it worth having a house as an adult who still has a plan of returning to Nigeria once in a while for festivities, business or any other related purpose ?

Please I'm not talking about village houses. But a personal house in the city due to the present state of Nigeria.

Relocation costs money. Many are relocating with students visa which costs over 5m to 15m. Na that kind person go think of building house before travelling. Whats the point of having personal house that would be empty Unless you can rent it sha.

It is also stupidity to sell your property to fund travel where you will be Illegally or without papers

Buy lots of land. Fenced it and leave. You can come back in years to come to build your choice of houses!! Cheers
