Do you think that SS card is linked to some sort of bank or credit card account? It’s not. Banks /financial service providers need SSN to check credit, prove you are who you say you are, and to report delinquent payments to your credit. But that doesn’t mean that your SS card somehow now turns into a debit card linked to those accounts and buy on Amazon with SSN or other e-commerce websites.

Your payroll taxes go into one large account which is actually used to pay other people’s benefits today. The SSA tracks your earnings and gives you credit for those payments - you can see this earnings history on My Social Security. If you retire, become disabled or die with a qualifying dependent, you /the qualifying dependent receive monthly payments based on how much you paid in (also available on My Social Security). But, you get a monthly payment like a salary. It isn’t some sort of bank account from which you can withdraw funds or against which you can make charges.

If you want a card to which you can charge online purchases, you need to open a bank account and get a debit card or apply for a credit card. You cannot charge purchases to your Social Security Card, Driver’s License, passport or any other form of ID. That’s just not how credit and IDs work.
