Notice To Quit - Legal Approach Needed by placeofallure(f): 5:36pm On Oct 07, 2022
My kid brother has been living in a room and parlour self contain apartment for about 5 or 6 years now. He pays rent yearly. His rent will be due by 31st November.

His landlord brought a quit notice, served by a lawyer, today 7th October asking him to quit the apartment by November 31, the exact day the current rent expires.

The puzzling thing is the letter was backdated to May 15, 2022. That's about 5 months ago. Isn't that fraud? My brother will need a few months to gather himself and get a new apartment.

Please, what legal moves does one make to ensure he is given between 3-6 months to leave the house. He may even leave before then.

Thank you.

Same thing happened to my kid brother.

I told him to pretend he never receive any quit notice(since no acknowledgement that he received the quit notice). I told him to continue to stay in the compound until he cover the

1. Agency fees
2. Agreement fee
3. Caution fee
4. Make sure he finish he one year.
4. Renovation he carried out on the apartment himself.

Before he leave the apartment.

How can my brother pay for an apartment for a year and he is yet to even use 4months and you serve him quit notice.
