Good Day guys

We all heard the judgement of the Appeal Court yesterday and from the looks of it her verdict is final in this particular matter so no Supreme court and I guess FG played a fast one on ASUU.

So this brings me to this Falana should have known the court weren't gonna judge this in ASUU's favour and also he should have told ASUU disobeying the first order from NIC will have consequences but still he jarred them on.

I think ASUU should just calm down and negotiate this matter in peace instead of court here and there cause from the look of things ASUU faulted and FG used those loop holes against them.

Let's be sincere pride is one thing holding ASUU down, we all knows they deserved better from FG but they too should know the Buhari tenure is coming to an end very soon like he said he doesn't want to sign agreement he can't implement and for me it's reasonable few months from now Buhari is off and the next president might fault that agreement if he signed and then the strike continues, so why not wait till the new president comes and then go on a reasonable negotiation with him.

The case is not won by either ASUU or FG yet the court just wants the students to return to class since they are the most affected here.

It's my own opinion though I might be wrong in some places am opened to learning and corrections.

ASUU was fighting for her rights. Nigeria is not just a country that values education.

Why should they when all politicians' kids school abroad?

The US and UK have good educational systems but people still travel out to get education elsewhere so for me if you can afford it then it's fine to take your kids abroad.

What I don't accept is government neglecting our own institutions cause their kids are overseas and are not affected by poor education their parents failed to fix.

I like what Buhari said that he can't sign what he can't implement
because
the bogus 2009 agreement the previous administration signed but didn't implement completely has been the cause of all this incessant strikes
Why sign what you know you can't implement

Yeah I think he is right but personally I feel that 8 months salary is what ASUU is mainly after cause all they are angry about is going to work on empty stomachs so definitely they are holding back mostly cause of that 8 months salary.

Yeah, the way they even attend to the ASUU strike is poor why take weeks and weeks to hold meetings when you know the issue on ground is very important.

I think you are right although it's difficult to believe the FG doesn't have the capacity to meet the request of ASUU.

However, I expected ASUU to have analysed this issue more critically than just being stubborn. Buhari is not ready to do anything. This is obvious!

While ASUU request is noble and realistic, the stubborn approach, and now almost resulting to contempt of law is not helping and will not help. You live to fight another day, they say!

They should first of all call off this strike, at least to minimize damages/losses to members if eventually no work no pay will stand.

That's what people were saying, that lecturers can't go to work on empty stomachs.

They are making it look like the strike has crippled them and in reality it's the students that are suffering but still my own is they should settle this amicably.

I 100% agree with you, the most they try to hold back the further they fall into FG trap. You know something ASUU are not 100% truthful.

FG paid them some earned allowance they said that's not the problem and UTAS is the problem so once FG implements it the strike is off the next day now UTAS undergoes test with ippis and the third one which I can't remember and the three failed.

If FG grants ASUU UTAS that will create trouble cause others will want theirs so they are trying to see it they can register or integrate UTAS and the others under ippis.

Seriously, ASUU are not ready to call the strike off as you can see they paid them earned allowance they said that's not part of the struggle, they sent 400+ billions to tetfund they said it's not it, gave UTAS a chance they said it's their 8 months salary am just tired of them.

ASUU need to be taught a lesson so they can stop using students as collateral damage when waging war with FG.
After 8 months where's the revitalization fund now?
What have they wasted students time for?
How effective is strike in this modern time?

The strike hasn't affected fg in any way, rather lecturers are facing untold hardships after several months without salary.

Well, I am thinking of the after effect of this brouhaha between the Fg and ASUU. Yes, the Fg could be assumed to have won ASUU as a body in court by FORCING them to resume work without in any way talked about their welfare. You know what it means to loose almost a year's income? I know what it means to work with people who are dissatisfied and despaired. Go to the universities and see other unions who called off their strike if they are on ground and work. All l know is that the university system will NEVER be the same again. I pity this country.

Very proud set of idiots.

Can you imagine?!

You have your masters and I have my masters but just because you enter the classroom to teach and I don't, you now feel like you are on top of the world.

Let that their pride kill all of them this time around.

Don't mind them.

Very useless set of proud and disgusting elements.

They are using the students as hostage to demand for ransom from the government at all times.

And the worst part is that the more government gives in to their demands, the more greedy and demanding they become.

I am happy that the federal government has finally decided to put an end to all that nonsense!

Hahahaha I think ASUU executives are just mainly fighting for that 8 months salary cause they might have promised they colleagues that inorder to hold on to the strike failing to achieve that might dent ASUU stronghold.

His statements are too harsh and mainly directed to the students.

Their biggest problem now is that the longer they continue to strike; the more months of salaries they are going to lose.

At some point when the hunger has become so unbearable, some of the members will definitely start to revolt against the ASUU executives.

And when that happens, you don't need any prophet to tell you that ASUU is completely finished.

And the best part is that the government has smartly made arrangement for that by registering CONUA.

I fear who no fear General Buhari. grin
