Yesterday. I had cup of coffee in the morning, a pear for lunch a plum for supper and some pistachio nuts and was full all day.

I'm hungry now though after a cup of coffee, so I'll have a plum. Hopefully I'll have space for the pasta and ribs I've been planning to eat for 2 days now.

Really? Now, how I wish that were true, the "rich" bit, and the "kid" bit.

Have you considered that there might be other reasons, like an inability to eat more?

Yes there are. buda can not eat much.

But this thread finally enabled me to eat the pasta and spareribs that I've been hoping to eat for 3 days now, so thank you all.

Any particular reason why or Buda prefers it that way?
Does Buda eat eggs? I think Buda should, if Buda does not mind.

Buda's food looks good.

buda can not eat much because buda's internals got damaged and do not work well no more.

Something to do with my toes.

I have had one egg in my fridge since July. I plan to take it outside one day and smash it to see how it has survived. Don't want it to stink up my home if I smashed it indoors. Plan to buy some for omelettes though, next time I'm out shopping.

Thank you. I forgot the olives. They'd have made it look even much better.

Sorry about that.

Does Buda practice intermittent fasting?
I think it might help Buda.

"Intermittent fasting"? Lol!

I eat little as it is, and often go whole days on coffee alone, so I don't think any more not eating would do me much good.

That cheerful spirit is the food that fills my belly. Very annoying it can be too when I can't eat the real good food I prepare.

Today though, even after the pasta and spare ribs, I feel like I can eat more. So, I'm going to put a salad on the menu and see if I really can.

I think the secret to eating until you are full is eating home cooked meals. There is hardly any reasonable amount of food I buy outside that satisfies me unless I ask for seconds but I will always be imagining how I can use that same amount to cook at home. To be a homemaker in this economy is not easy. There's this place near me, cute little bukka with nice food but they sell a piece of chicken for 1200n. I'd rather add 800 to that amount and buy a kilogram of chicken to enjoy with my family at home. Try to cook yourself op. Your stomach and pocket will thank you.

Personally, I don't see why anyone needs to eat until they are full unless they fear they may not get to eat another meal or are just plain greedy. But let me entertain you with a story about a greedy fuq.

We used to go village for the summer holidays. Ma would take us, so we'd stay with her mother, my grandma, instead of at my father's parents who are from the same village. My maternal grandma would tell us not to go my father's parent's house because they will put juju on us, and we must definitely not eat there because the juju would be put in the food. Unfortunately, every Sunday at my father's parent's house, they'd cook yam in drums and pound it for the whole compound to eat, and there'd be palmwine, and the adults would sit eating and drinking and discussing stuff, while maternal grandma would cook onla (dried okro) with eba, so you might imagine where I went after church.

One Sunday, after eating and drinking and being very full at my father's parent's house, I returned to grandma's to find my eba and onla and grandma waiting for me, so I was forced to eat it while she watched, on top on the pounded yam and palmwine I was already full of. Then greedy me and my cousin went to Cicilias the palmwine seller and drunk ourselves silly on top of our being drunk and silly already. I was so full that day that I could not even stand up straight so I crawled, and the pounded yam and the eba and the onla and the palmwine was coming out of my mouth and my nose and my rear end at the same time, and I swear I felt some come out of my ears and my eyes too. That was the day I learnt not to be a greedy fuq.

Food does not have to be filling, is what I have found, and quality matters more than quantity. But I might see it different if I were a bricklayer or a bodybuilder who might need a full belly to get through the whole day.

P.s. I said salad yesterday but never got round to it. Thankfully, after porridge in the morning (made from two spoonfuls of raw), it was salad today. Ingredients were lettuce, tomatoes, mixed beans, olives, spring onions, chia seeds, golden linseed, coconut shavings, hazelnuts slices, tuna and salad cream. And to KELVINXY who accused me of rich yesterday, I plead guilty bar the sarcasm, though I'm certain the entire meal cost less than £2.

Lmao..
What a hilarious experience you had. grin
Don’t blame granny…she gave you a story to tell. grin

Well,
@ the bolded
It is actually a solid point.
I think most people eat according to their body metabolism.
And also there’s this thing with human nature or psychology,
We tend to get filled up easily when we know there’s always food readily available, what this does to you is that it actually makes you picky (so it’s understandable).
And my apologies about yesterday’s….
I guess your choice was based on your location unlike us here that can swallow garri for breakfast. wink

Good morning..

How are you today?

I am always good, Angel. After almost dying like 5 times already living is a huge fun laughing bonus.

"Miss when £2 was equivalent to just N600", lol. There was a time when £2 was equal to N1.36k.

Gari! Now that I do miss. Who needs Coca Cola when there's two spoons of delicious gari with ice cold water?

Right outside my home in my village there's a family who's always making gari. Specifically there's 10 year old Kubura who'd sit there from morning till late in the evening roasting the cassava in a pan, while her 7 year old brother goes to school and returns singing baa baa black sheep have you any wool.

One day, Kubura was lamenting that her brother can speak English but she can't, so I decided to teach Kubura how to read, which meant I'd roast the cassava while she learns. I lasted less than 5 minutes, as my arm hurt from stirring the gari so it wouldn't burn and my legs burnt from the fire itself, and by the end 10 year old Kubura was consoling crying me who was crying at what Kubura had to put up with.

I paid her schoolfees for the next few years then her mother took her to the farm and I have not heard of her since.

Good morning Kelvin. Please do not apologise. Like granny, you gave me a story to tell and the opportunity to tell it. Besides, see proper insults here where some want to burn me alive.

It might seem like I often suggest this o, but you should've cooked beans, then you would've had enough to eat to your fill.

You have a funny ways of telling your stories..
It’s really nice to hear that you enjoyed soaking garri.

Thank you for what you did for young Kubura, that was really kind of you
And the experience that came along with it, I’m sure it was quite enlightening grin
Anyways that’s what most of us pass through just to make ends meet on a daily.

About the abuses here on NL, it takes getting used to.
The savagery is off the charts… just like living in Nigeria, we all have to adapt and smile through..

It's what I passed through just to make ends meet. And you are responsible for inspiring me to tell you stories!

There was a time my eating was compulsory 001. I was at college at the time and never had enough money, so I'd eat 00 all day and have the 1 late in the evening because I just couldn't sleep on an empty stomach.

One day, I was preparing to eat my 1 eba when a colleague knocked on my door crying. He'd just returned from seeing his older brother whom he'd lived and worked for before starting college, saving his earnings with him. But now, year 1, brother said there was no money for him to go to school, "what should I do", he cried.

"Ah well, me I'm hungry", I said. "So first drink this one big cup of water then let us eat this eba".

When we'd finished eating, I told him my own situation, that I eat one meal a day and fill up with water, and "from this day on, come and share it with me". And that's what we did all through college, eventually moving in together to save on rent.

Upbringing, I guess, is responsible for my attitude. We'd sit down at the table prepared to commence eating, then one woman would turn up with her 5 children, crying that they have nothing to eat. So ma would call a halt on our eating and we redistribute the food amongst us and our hungry guests.

What used to annoy me was, whenever I went to this woman's house and they had food, they'd have the amount of meat on each plate that me and my 4 siblings never had on all our plates put together. And while I was planting the ewuro and igwu in the compound so we'd have vegetable to eat, her children would be playing football.

Regarding the abuse, sticks and stones may hurt my bones but words on the internet..... Well, I'm sure you get the gist.
