Peter Obi Inflicted Pains On Judiciary Staff, Doctors, ANSU Lecturer by TonyeBarcanista(m): 2:03pm On Oct 08, 2022
By TonyeBarcanista

On 17 Jan 2011 Judiciary Staff Union of Anambra State High Court embarked on 4 months strike over the failure of Peter Obi to meet their demand. No Court sitting for 4 months.

Similarly by the first week of February 2011 doctors in Anambra State embarked on a 13 month strike after Peter Obi refused to pay them the consolidated salaries and allowances negotiated between the NMA & FG/SGs. Other health workers joined the strike in March 2011.

In July 2010 Anambra State Uni Lecturers embarked on strike action after Peter Obi refused to attend to their demands. Obi instead fired the VC for refusing to sanction striking lecturers. The strike was eventually called off on January 18, 2011 - that is 6 months after.

Meanwhile Obi was lavishing the State's money buying 200 Sedans and SUV for Judges of Anambra State origin serving at Federal High Courts, High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, State High Courts other Anambra State, the Court of Appeal and  Customary Courts of Appeal

From the Peter Obi largesse each of the Judges of the High Courts were given Toyota saloon car while their counter parts at the Court of Appeal were given a Nissan SUV otherwise called Jeep. The value of these largese was estimated at N1bn ($670million @143/$)M

As Obi wasted money, the State's Judiciary remained in ruins. According to the Chief Judge in Nov 2010

“Our Judges and Magistrates have continued to sit under dilapidated and in some cases, leaking roofs. The roofs, ceilings and walls of most of our Courts are decaying due to old age."

Obi's unpopularity among Anambra workers was visible in August 2011 Labour Rally. With his chants

“Ikwusigo, inabago, 419/ Ezigbo onye ori azulu azu k’ibu, 419” – which translates as, “Have you finished speaking, are you leaving, 419/ A well-trained thief is who you are, 419.”

Obi's 8 years gubernatorial tenure was about insensitivity to Anambra workers, poor economic output for the state and deception. This is why he avoids discussing his antecedents.

The only way out for Nigeria is Atiku Abubakar to implement #PDPRecoveryPlan and restore NGR's glory

NB: Obi was sworn in as Governor of Anambra State in March 2006 and March 2010 for a second term

If the workers could not accept a doubling of their salaries which Peter Obi allegedly offered them, then the strike was political.

I will vote for Peter Obi, he did very after you consider how many people and unions he fought and won.

cool

The strike wasn't caused by Obi actually.

It was a more complicated latent issue "internally"

Meanwhile the most intriguing part is Obi's speech that ended the strike. He said and I quote "calling of the strike will really be the best thing that will favour us all(pleading) taking into consideration the many challenges the state is facing currently" He went on to thank the Enugwu-ukwu general hospital and thier board on the rehabilitation campaign of thiers which he used to pitch the striking unions. Exactly what a leader should do!!

But take a look today...... Buhari doesn't send ASUU and thier course. He's even seeing them as boisterous greedy ones. On a move to even deregister ASUU.

Old cargoes campaigners ........ please find a bigger propaganda to pull Obi down. All this smaller one's are way below his feat

Can you elaborate more on the reason why you and your ilks has been very upset since Obi made mention of removing import Restriction.

Also point out the visible achievement that has been made by Buhari led administration on thier import Restriction. A good example with prize of Bag of rice will really be welcomed wink

I'm in for dialogue

PDP vs low budget PDP undercover wink

Lp is low budget PDP and failure( PDP) begets failure (LP).

Nobody, I repeat, NO NIGERIAN should take both HE Atiku of PDP and his former running mate, HE Obi of the mushroom party, serious on their vote splitting battle in Igboland.

SW, NW, NE, NC and some parts of SS are already in the kitty for Asiwaju Tinubu so PDP and its baby should stop disturbing Nigerians with their puerile and shameful roforofo market square fight.

Both PDP and its Igboland-based offspring ma lule ni las las.

They said Obi is not a contender but a pretender, yet both APC and PDP are using their platforms to attack Peter Obi.

Op, your Atiku said a vote for PDP is a vote for insecurity, corruption and unemployment.

Your grandfather Atiku was vice-president when doctors embarked on strike in 2001 https://www.thenewhumanitarian.org/report/21951/nigeria-hospitals-desolate-doctors’-strike-bites

I'm happy that his candidacy is seriously inflicting pains on generational idiots across the land too. That's explains the fixation on him.

Some of you are very dangerous to this country with your greed. They grease your dirty palms and you start campaigning for well known criminals and thieves.

With all the corruption and ineficiency in governance created by all these utterly corrupt gerentocrats, we still have some ostensibly young Nigerians campaigning for them!

Dirty, corrupt, confused lot

How can you recommend poison as a remedy to stomach pain? You said Atiku is the solution?

Atiku that was seeking for bribes before contracts can be given.

Kassim Afegbua, former commissioner for
information in Edo state, says former Vice-
President Atiku Abubakar should respond to
the US’ allegations of corruption against him.
Atiku’s row with the US authorities began after
the FBI investigated a bribery scandal involving
William Jefferson, former US congressman, in
2004.
He was accused of demanding a bribe of
$500,000 to facilitate the award of contracts to
two American telecommunication firms in
Nigeria.
In a statement on Sunday, Afegbua who was
the spokesperson of Atiku’s campaign in 2019,
said the report of the US congress on the
allegations against Atiku is too “damning to be
ignored”.

“The report of the United States Congress on
the investigation is too damning to be ignored,
if we truly want to sustain the ethics of a
transparent leadership and positive
governance,” the former commissioner said.
“I am therefore calling on the United States
Government to commence the process of
inviting Alhaji Atiku Abubakar to the United
States to face those charges without further
delay. I am aware of the threats to my life over
my strong position against the aspiration of
Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and other northern
aspirants who are running against the run of
play.
“I am therefore, using this opportunity to plead
that the United States Government takes
expedite action on this matter in the interest of
rule of law, justice and transparency.

“The United States of America should please
take deliberate steps to help Nigeria grow her
anti-corruption initiative, deepen her democracy
and provide the opportunity for a robust
economy that will benefit the majority and not
a select and privileged few. It will help
consolidate both private and public sector
effort at reducing the incidents of corruption
and financial malfeasance.
“The earlier Alhaji Atiku Abubakar is made to
face the full wrath of the law, the better for our
anti-corruption crusade, and the best for our
fledgling democracy.
“I am a Nigerian who desires to see a more
proactive government that would respond
positively to the yearnings and aspirations of
its citizenry. A stitch in time, saves nine. This
is the time to act urgently too.”

Any politician who try to paint himself as a saint and label his fellow politicians as rogues is the worse of them all. Tssk.
