After Praying, Do You Care To Ever Listen? by Tboy222: 2:33pm On Oct 08, 2022
Just as world war II began, Dr. Jones was in China when the Japanese began their invasion. He knew that if he didn't get out of China quickly, he would be there possibly for the entire war.

Dr. Jones caught the last tramp freighter leaving China and piled his many possessions on board, knowing it would take him a long time to get back to India.

The old ship wound it's way slowly from port to port while Dr. Jones could only impatiently hope for the best.

The old ship wound it's way slowly from port to port while Dr. Jones could only impatiently hope for the best. Winding around what is today called Vietnam and Thailand proved arduous. They had to go beyond Burma to finally arrive in India. However it was Dr. Jones's practice not only to pray for protection but also to attempt to listen to what the Holy Spirit might say to him in return.

As the boat pulled into one those a out-of-the-way docks that no travel agency even sent it's customers to visit, Dr. Jones's prayed in his mind as usual. In his mind and heart, the voice of God spoke back.
" Get of the boat," the Holy Spirit said.

Dr. Jones blinked in bewilderment. To end up In this port was nearly as bad as to get stuck in China! He must have heard wrong.

"Get off this boat" the Holy Spirit repeated.

Because Dr. Jones did what he believed the Spirit of God told him to do, with the greatest reluctance, he had all of his possessions removed from the ship and piled on the dock. Standing in the midst of his goods, Dr. Jones watched the freighter sail out of the Andaman Sea. He felt like a fool and knew that his problem of returning to India had only deepened.

As he watched the boat sail a mile out into the harbor, a terrible roar echoed back to the shore as fire and smoke suddenly filled the air. A Japanese submarine had torpedoed the ship and it sank, killing all the passengers.

When Dr. Jones told his story, a hand immediately shot up in the air. " Do you mean that you were the only person God was speaking to?" the man asked.

" No ,sir" Dr. Jones snapped. "I was the only one listening."

Do you ever bother to listen when the Spirit calls, is the Lord talking to you now, but you have your gaze and your heart focused elsewhere. The truth of the matter is we pray incessantly about an issue, but God tells us to go this direction, and with our finite and limited reasoning we try to reason it out and it looks so illogical, unreasonable and even foolish to us.

God ways and methods is way more and infinitely above anything we can comprehend. He gave us the brains and wisdom to create mathematical equations, philosophical and ethical theories, language and word definidiums, business and economic strategies and policies.

But when he gives us a command we try to use the same finite theories our limited understanding could comprehend to challenge and analyse is infinite masterplan. It is like a blindman challenging a good samaritan who is directing him to the door of his car.

So brothers and sisters whenever you pray, take time to listen. God talks in different ways, through his Word (bible), through his servants or helpers, through dreams and visions, through prophecies, through whimiscal statements by people you don't even know, through signboards across the road, through quotes on magazines, Facebook, YouTube, infact through ignorant and innocent whispers or screams by toddlers. You will be shocked God works and talk to us in mysterious ways.

But to discern whether it is the voice of God, you have to compare whatever you hear or see with the scriptures, because God will never contradict his word.

But to be able to hear God's voice clearly and distinctively, you will have give your life over to him, you must have a personal relationship with God the Son which is Our Lord Jesus Christ.

If you know you have not yet accepted Jesus as your personal Lord and Saviour, and that he has not yet washed you with his blood. You have to go down on your knees and do so, the fact that you go to church every-day, or you sing in a choir, you give alms or you fast and pray means nothing to God. Yes you heard me right.

Repentance, confessing of your sins and turning away from any sort of sin is the real deal, that is your ticket and gateway to Heaven.
Romans 3:23 (KJV) For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

Isaiah 1:18 (KJV) Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.

1 John 1:9 (KJV) If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

So my brothers and sisters the spirit is calling you now, the Prince of Prince is calling you now.

Revelation 22:17 (KJV) And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.

So please do not delay one second, Jesus is waiting for you, now is the Hour of grace, now is the hour of salvation. God doesn't want you to perish. So choose Life now. May the Good Lord be with you all. Amen.
