I had an awful day after making breakfast & washing my clothes, we had to rush to town to make a delivery & teach.

There was no time to queue for petrol. I determined that the reserve will take us to town & on our way back we'd buy petrol but unfortunately all the petrol stations in town that we saw, invariably had endless queues hence we decided to risk it & proceed towards our side.

On getting to our express way towards Kubo, we saw a not so long queue at Shema & we gladly joined it. By the time I realized that we were in the same spot for a long time, I stepped out to find out what was happening & saw that they were no longer selling petrol.

I inquired what was happening & I was told that they just stopped. Not long after they sold to a few cars that came in through the exit gate & parked abnormally while they ignored those parked right beside the fuel pumps on the queue.

I asked the man that was meant to be served why he was ignored (as the fuel attendant even stretched the nozzle across his car to serve a lady out of the queue), he said the attendant ignored him. After serving about 8 cars they turned off the pumps.

A man from the North that speaks Hausa went to inquire & he was told that they would sell to him if he has N5000 to part with(bribe). He came back & told us. The highest I have heard to have your tank filled during scarcity was N1000. This was insane.

I intended to manage N7k petrol for the week & they expect me to bribe with N5k?! They served another group & some fellow Hausa speaking men inquired why they refused to sell to those of us on queue & he was told that their petrol is down to their reserve level. Even if that was true, then they ought not to sell to anyone & if they wanted to it ought to be on first come first served basis.

Last last they refused to sell.
Someone said we should call D. P. R..... They last time I heard, D. P. R don't function again
What a country?!

This brings back bad memories of the military era.
I believe the fuel station attendants use this opportunity to make life terrible for motorists.

We shall survive this period

I remember one time i joined a brother fighting 4 our rights due to dis kind of corruption in a filling station, after a heated exchange which almost led to a boxing match, they said they would only sell fuel to those who didn't confront them,.....can U imagine those motorists we thought are with us, just bought thier own fuels & ignored us.....Those guys wouldn't even have gotten d fuel without us even speaking woh......... But i learned a very important lesson dat day about Nigeriansgrin
