He have been writing jamb for a very long time about 8 times or so,most times he score about 290 but not being admitted, there was a time total aggregate for UI medicine and surgery is 73 his score was 72 that's why he was disqualified, sometime he even score 324 in jamb still he wasn't admitted he have choose so very many universities, OAU twice, UI twice or more self, futa, uniben.

he wants to study medicine and surgery and he is above 30 less than 35 now, not just to be idile he repair fone and he have little change sha, so now here is where the problem lies, he was told to choose less competitive school which is university of porthacut which he did in jamb he score 302 or so, then all this ASUU issues now came in when ASUU is taking forever to resume, we decided to open a shop in the city with goods, shop renting and furnishings it cost like 1m which affects our savings alot, we resume to this shop last week Monday and ASUU have suspend strike now, what should he do nobody can help him to stay in the shop and me that can do that is in Lagos, am the one sending markets to him.

So am very very confused should he forfeit shop that consumes life savings for school or he should leave school and continue with his business thanks for your comment everyone

Leaving school completely which made him write JAMB 8 times yet didn't get in would not sit well with him in the future because for him to wait this long to study Medicine and Surgery, it seems going to school is his passion.

The Best now would be to either
1) SELL THE BUSINESS AND GO BACK TO SCHOOL IF HE CHECKS AND GETS ADMISSION TRULY.
I heard of two brothers who bought a dry cleaning business last month for N1.5Million from someone who is relocating overseas.

So it's possible.

2) GET A TRUSTED PERSON, COUSIN OR RELATIVE TO MANAGE THE SHOP AS A SALES REP WHILE HE GOES TO SCHOOL.
This is a good option because he would be needing money for School to take care of himself. He can be checking in on the shop on weekends if it is close by.

For this method, you set price range. If he is selling Shoes for instance, he buys a shoe to sell for maybe N2K. He tells the sellers to give him minimum of N4K on the shoe. The seller can put his on price and sell for 6K or 7K depending on his bargaining power with the customers.

That way, he is not paying the sales person salary but the sales person is making money also from your shop. He will not think of cheating u because it is "I chop...You chop. Business dey move".

Some people call this business model "dropshipping".

Your brother would discover that money is coming in and business is moving even while he is absent and he would enjoy school even more because he has money to take care of himself.

I prefer the second option if you ask me because we all need money.

God bless your brother's journey and may his dreams come to reality.

I am also in school too but I am looking for a business I can do online after classes in the night that can be fetching me money because in my school, no time to work undecided

Well said. Thank you. Dropshipping is one of the lucrative online businesses available today. It requires little or no capital, flexible to operate
and very easy to start and scale-up, gives you the time, freedom you desire. I dropship for a living so it gladdens my heart to see this post. Thanks once again

I would have suggested getting a hand to manage the business while he's away but you said you guys just started the biz.

The business is not yet ripe to hand over to a third party for handling, it gradually die or he gets cheated out. Besides, he's yet to understand the intricacies that comes with the business, so how would he know when he's being shortchanged?

Having spent over eight years pursuing a shadow all in the name of passion is what I will never encourage anyone to do. Stupidity is doing something over and over, and expecting a different result. This is a bad orientation, and unfortunately, the fate of many in Nigeria.

Perhaps, he isn't taking his age into consideration, he should estimate the number of years he would have to spend to acquire the degree + ASUU strike (nothing less than 8 -9 years I suppose). Add that up to his current age and see the numbers.

I would advise he forfeits the admission and carry on with the business. If after establishing himself deep enough in the business and he still feel he wants to pursue a degree in medicine then he can enroll in a hybrid program that would spare him time for his business.

School.

He's gone too far in pursuit of schooling to back out now.

He is resilient and he's the type that's made for medical studies.
