Explanation: 1. As soon as they left Egypt, they had sinned time and again. (Deut 1-10). God said: "Ten times I was offended with this generation" So He swore that generation won't enter His rest. THEY PRACTICALLY ROAMED ABOUT THE DESERT TILL THE LAST ADULT > 20Y, DIED. 2. It was the generation that came after that was led by Joshua into Egypt. It takes just a FEW WEEKS to cover the distance. E.g. (i) The flight of Mary and Joseph into Egypt. (ii) The flight of Jeroboam. |
