So I washed the beans…added everything and all the necessary ingredients…except I didn’t grind the beans.
Poured oil in the pot and fried.
Long story short I took one spoon when I was done. It was devastating to say the least. So I misheviously called the gateman’s son, packaged the rest and told him it was special akara. To go and eat….
Also I remember adding sugar to pepper soup to make it sweet…as a kid.
These are probably the strangest foods I have eaten.

I was in Primary 3 or 4 at the time. My Mum packaged rice in my food flask to eat at school. I always wondered why they cook rice with salt so I took sugar to school and mixed ENOUGH of it with the rice. Behold, I could only take 1 spoon from that cuisine, I threw the remaining away. I still remember the hunger that day today. Returning home from school, I had to walk about 5-6 kilometres under the scorching sun to our house without food in my belly.
