It will be better you go into pig farming, rather than poultry. Bird farming is very delicate, one sick bird can implicate others within twinkle of an eye.

yes it's profitable. I don't know much but they do give birth to lots of children and they are not prone to falling sick anyhiw

I'll advise you to look into other agriculture venture like goat and pig farming. For pig farming, it depends on your location but it's lucrative. And if you still insist in poultry, for a starter, avoid broilers. Except maybe you wan experience adult cry.

And in whtever you venture into, start small and learn. Don't invest all the money on a single business.

I advice you to put 9.5 into a fixed deposit account, use just 500k to go into the business while utilising things like online courses and guidance from experienced poultry farmers on how to run the business.

From there you can see just how quick or slow you can grow the busines and regain your money back..you can make your decision from there.

The bolded is what you should be doing than coming to NL. When I wanted to learn a particular trade I went to the person, learnt the nitty gritty about the business from foundation to the top and she gave me a branch to Handel before I started my own

Yes, Call Udo, hia into pig farming and can guide you about pig farming but try food business because with the flooding in many states food prices would sky rocket. I can recommend someone to go learn from if you based in Lagos

The first rule of business is to maximize profit and minimize expenses.

Fixed Deposit (FD) would attract Withholding tax (WHT) and defeats the first business rule meaning at the end of the FD investment his left with 9,405,000 this is a bad investment in my humble opinion.

Crop farming

Buy small bus for transportation


Have a grounding machine to save cost of feeding

That's all

Stay away from fixed deposit

Open mutual funds accounts


Savings account pay 4.5% monthly

A sincere advice from someone that has been into it since childhood up till date.

1. It is profitable very profitable

2. You won't even see your profit in the next 1 ½ yr

3. Profit depends on situation of things, and market.

4. Diseases, wrong medications, wrong vaccinations, weather conditions, ventilation can ruined everything within a month

5. Do it together with broilers

6. Layers gives little daily returns, Broilers gives huge seasoner returns

7. DON'T GO INTO IT WITHOUT PROPER KNOWLEDGE OF IT

Animal rearing is good but disease outbreak can kill most of the birds if not all.
You could also try plant farming. Crops like cucumber, watermelon etc takes 3 months maxi to be ripe and for your information, if all things equal, An expenses of 500k could give you that 10 million in 3 month. This isn't Fabrication of data, it's something I do. Also, pineapple farming is crazily lucrative, it only takes too much of time before it could ripe. All these crops, it's few that plant and knows about it in South West of Nigeria, Many plant Yam, Cassava, Maize.

Sorry with that huge amount i will advice you look for farm land that you can rent , plant corn and cassava, note you will havest the corn within 3 month from there you will recover part of your money then but dont forget the original money is from the cassava once it is 1 year you will havest the cassava and go and sell to company like we-wood at ore or fmn at sagamu inter exchange my brother you will thank me .that is my own hunble opinion, you can do your finding by going on net and browse about it.
