In a highly embarrassing move, Joy Raimi Mojisola Nigeria’s contestant at Miss Intercontinental 2022 has been called out by the organizers of the global pageant to stop parading herself as the actual winner of the pageant in place of the true winner, Miss Vietnam, Le Nguyen Bao Ngoc.

Joy Raimi Mojisola who placed 4th overall was actually the 3rd Runner up at the recently concluded Miss Intercontinental Pageant which took place in Egypt, contrary to her claim that she was the actual winner of the pageant when she came back to Nigeria.
The organizers clarified the fact that Raimi Mojisola was merely given the Africa Beauty Award, as were other beauty queens representing other continents in the world, but that did not give her the right to usurp the place of the winner, in press statements she gave to Nigerian media.

The event took place at Meraki Resort in Sharm El-Sheikh over the weekend and saw 70 contestants go head-to-head in a series of rounds.

In 1989, Bianca Ojukwu Nigeria’s representative won this international pageant, making her the first african ever to win the pageant.
This year’s winner Miss Vietnam, Le Nguyen Bao Ngoc, is a professional model based in Vietnam.

The organizers re stated the representative placements as follows:
Ist position and Winner is Miss Vietnam Le Nguyen Bao Ngoc.
1st Runner up is Miss Puerto Rico , Mariela Pepin.
2nd Runner up is Miss Brazil , Maria Cecilia
3rd Runner up is Miss Nigeria , Joy Raimi Mojisola.
