I have been on WhatsApp since 1 year till now, every day and I have not experienced such.

Till now I've not open my twitter account to even check,I had to confirm on telegram.

I use three powerful phones two Samsung and iPhone

So it has nothing to do with phones

That person is probably using a modded version of WhatsApp: FM Whatsapp and GB WhatsApp.
