RepoMan007:
Try cassava flour, garri, or sweet potatoes as someone suggested or even rice processing as equally suggested. Buy the cheap unprocessed one and do the processing to save cost.
great suggestion

Sweet potatoe is in season now... Stock up and enjoy!

It has a short holding time.

I bought mine last week Saturday, I checked em today. They have started rotting away.

Probably it's my environment though because up here is hotter than the South.

Even bread is flying through the sky!

I never even knew that pure water price had flown up too!

Yet salaries are still the same!

Many Nigerians go chop grass and stones before APC is removed from Aso Rock.

The problem is that it doesn't last. It spoils quickly

Don't keep it with or near Onions. Let it have light and air and you are good

It's sad. I just can't imagine how the poorest of the poor are coping with the current hardship.

Guys let's vote Peter Obi if things will change. I think it's worth a trial. Voting back APC is just to continue the status quo.

A lot of those poor people are campaigning and supporting PDP and APC!

Hi, with the growing price of rice, things don't seem to be cheap and eating rice would take much from one's earnings.

The unfortunate flood stories on frontpage and also increase in price of rice is worrisome, but man must survive.

I remember the time I used to buy spaghetti and hardly use rice. But one thing led to the other and the price of spaghetti increased and I was forced to look for alternative, and had to resort to rice because it was cheaper then.

Now same rice is increasing in price, what food would you suggest should be used to replace rice based on cost.

Unfortunately for Nigeria we do not have a wide variety of staples. Rice is not a staple or indigenous to Nigeria so we toil to produce any reasonable quantities.

I guess cassava derivatives is what has economic benefits. It is our bottom line as far as food security is concerned.
