A new 28,000 square metre regional mall has opened its doors in Ermelo, Mpumalanga Province, South Africa.

The Merino Mall development opened its doors last week, having been under construction for 15 months and in development for even longer.

The mall also has its own solar photovoltaic (PV) plant that produces green energy, allowing the mall to trade during load shedding (scheduled powercuts).

According to the developers, the property even has a sewer treatment plant that will recycle grey water back into the building to achieve water savings.

Other features include connectivity to fast fibre Wi-Fi network.

The initial cost is expensive, but it's worth it.

Car battery can not be used for solar, it discharges fast. Solar needs deep cycle battery that discharges slowly.

Can you pay for a battery that has 10 years warranty? I doubt if you will like to spend a million on 1 battery without inverter, accessories, panels and installation. If good battery is installed for, and you didn't over loaded the system, the battery can serve you for over 5 to 7 years. Mostly original Tubular battery.
